With all due respect... last year we opened against Utah State (Good team and classy fans, by the way. Also check out their stadium. It's a destination venue surrounded by mountains). SOME of their fans believed they'd walk into Neyland and roll us, many were confident in a close game. Yes I am aware that it is at LP Field. That being said, the USU fans said their big powerful linebackers, dominant front 7, fast RBs, and Chuckie Keeton, their darkhorse Heisman candidate QB would be too much to handle for our largely freshman team. We beat them in every phase of the game 37-7 and they were lucky to score. Those freshmen are now sophomores. I understand BGSU is a good team with a good offense, and I personally think it's an interesting matchup to be honest, but I must respectfully say, if we don't win by 14-21 with the talent we return and the talent we just brought in, we have major issues. Anything can happen on Saturday, good luck the rest of the season. I hope you go 10-2 :) (sorry, also a Memphis fan somewhat lol)

That's why games aren't played on paper, we'll see what happens. I don't think many here expect BG to win but we're certainly excited to have our MAC Championship QB healthy and an up-tempo offense in it's second year coming in without hopefully any hiccups...just don't ask us about the defense...

I'd say we all hope to win but most of us probably expect a loss.
Personally I expect you guys to move the ball and score quite easily. I think our only hope is to score a lot and get some quick points off turnovers. Mississippi State beat us 21-20 two years ago. Florida beat us 27-14 in 2012 and we played like crap. Also got destroyed by Wisconsin last year so... A blowout is definitely possible but I expect a competitive game.

Anything can happen in week one.

But of course. I watched a couple of your games last year, particularly the Toledo and South Alabama games. I am aware of your offense. I think that's one very interesting aspect of this matchup is we also run a hurry up, no huddle, fast tempo offense. It could definitely make for a fun high scoring game. I don't know exactly all what you return, however. Could you fill me in there please?

Agreed, and while this is the most talented Tennessee team since 2007 or earlier, most of that talent is also comprised of freshmen and sophomores. By our game 2 matchup at Oklahoma last year, many of our players had never even been on a plane lol. We shall see. It's truly a testament to how bad our previous coaches let us become when you can pull back to back top 7 recruiting classes and still have depth issues.

Legend has it the moon landing was filmed in the break room at the MAC office headquarters in Cleveland. Commisioner Steinbrecher's office was once one giant pile of fake lunar rocks.

Hey William,

My boys and I are coming to Nashville and very much looking forward to the opener. Butch Jones is a very good college coach and TN will be a formidable opponent. Phil Steele has TN picked 2nd in the SEC East and he's usually pretty dead on. We do return every starter on offense and special teams...but our D only returns 4 starters. This could be a good thing as poorly as our D played last year. lol. I think the D will be better this year but it may not be evident in the first couple games. If TN can run the ball down our throat, it could get ugly. OTOH, if our O can put up BiG time points, we have a good chance. Should be a very interesting game and I predict the team in orange will win. :-D

GO FALCONS!!!

Honestly, I'm glad because I'd much rather a strong, high powered offense come to play against us than some team struggling to win 2-4 games. We play Oklahoma the following week so I'd rather the team be sharper and more prepared than to sleepwalk into Oklahoma expecting it to be just as easy if we'd played, say, the Austin Peay Governors the week before lol.
