Zach works for Rivals and penned a blog outlining the upcoming season with results and short synopsis of each school in the MAC.

FWIW, he predicts BG to defeat Tennessee 28-24 and Purdue 31-28.

i can see us beating Purdue but i dont see it with UT really. He predicts 28-24 win and that would be awesome. I see no way we hold them to 24 points though.

In my heart, I have BG beating TN 34-30. In my mind...well...we'll see. lol. He has us losing to WMU and tsun by a FG (and since we haven't been able to beat either for the last few years, I can't get on him for that). Has us starting the year 3-1 with only a loss at MD. I would take that start in a HEART BEAT.

If we hold Tennessee to 24 I like our chances in that game and going forward. I think we will have to at least be in the upper 30s to win that game. I'd be quite OK with a 3-1 start regardless of who the loss is to. I won't go as far to say that the season is a loss if we lose to Toledo again but enough is enough. It's an embarrassing streak that has no business going on as long as it has.

I know I said it before so I'll say it again. We have a real defensive coordinator now in Ward. I cannot stress his importance enough. We will be worlds better on defense than if McCloud were DC again. I don't expect our D to look like we have Chris Jones, BooBoo Gates, and Dwayne Woods out there, but we'll be much better. And if our D is at least decent this year, they could be dominant next year.

Give them a chance before throwing in the towel.

I don't see either happening. BG is going to have to win a 47-41 type game to beat the Vols.

Tennessee has 340 pound tackles. We will luck and a lot of it.... Probably a game like the WV game a few years ago. Just do not see it close but hope I am wrong.. I would love to eat my words.... A lot of unknowns

Give the new DC a chance to get things right. Yes, we were bad on D last year...LAST YEAR. It's going to be better than you think.

Geeze, a statement like this before we have even played the first game? Let's at least play some football before declaring that anything stinks.

Things are rarely as awful or as great as we think they will be. They usually end up closer to the norm than an extreme. I'll admit the defense concerns me but I'm giving them a fair shot at this point.
