TV for Tennessee game

Post by footballguy51 »

I looked it up. For those of you not making the trip, the Tennessee game will be on the SEC network which has some type of affiliation with ESPN, meaning it will also be on watchespn.com.

Looks like SEC Network is ch 336/1336 on TWC in BG.

I think it is only watchable on WatchESPN if your TV plan has SEC Network. We don't have SEC Network at home so I'm going to BW3's to watch the game.

The SEC Network is also on Sling TV for those of you who are cable cutters using a streaming device at home.

Update. Important FYI.

I do not have SEC network at home. I just tried to watch an SEC network feature on WatchESPN and I received an error screen with a big bold

If you are thinking of sticking around home to watch the game live on WatchESPN ... TRY FIRST on an SEC network feature. If it does not work, go to a BW3's or something. I'd hate to see somebody miss the game because of not knowing ...

I am a Vols fan, but I wanted to stop by and wish you guys luck. Its great that college football is back and my hopes for the first game are;

Your team plays up to its potential and so do the Vols.
Heartfelt wishes that all the players come off the field like they walked on; uninjured.
That those of you visiting Knoxville are treated with class and like fellow football brothers.
When we turn on the game, we can forget the hype, the betting line, the pundits, and realize that on a given day, any team is capable of beating any other team ( Ask Michigan and Appalachian State).

Enjoy the game guys and good luck for the season!!!

Thanks VolinOhio. I would think that those hopes and thoughts are widely shared amongst the posters on this site.

It's been nice to see the comments from the visiting Vols fans leading up to this game. Unless I missed something, it's been absent of the usual 1 or 2 disrespectful trash-talkers we often see visit our site before these out of conference games. I enjoy getting to hear insightful and friendly sharing of thoughts and information, rather than just coming on here to bash us and tell us how bad we're going to get beat. I appreciate what you Vols have added to the discussion and if the other Vol fans are cut from the same cloth, then that makes me regret even more that I'm not able to spend Saturday in Nashville.

For the record, I certainly hope BG can find a way to pull this one off, but also hope that Tennessee has a great season from here on out.

I appreciate that and forgot that the game is in Nashville. Hope nobody heads to Knoxville looking for the game, lol. For folks going to Nashville, the bars and restaurants on 21st street are pretty fun. Its right next to the Vandy campus and only 3,4 miles from the stadium.

There's the whole ESPN3 streaming experience in a nutshell. They should just have that message as an actual channel the way some networks show a fireplace during Christmas and see what type of ratings it would get.

That's because espn3 isn't run the same way as every other streaming service on the planet. It's run the way they run their networks. Trying to bully providers into paying a per subscriber fee to offer the service. It's ESPN grasping at straws to maintain the revenue they've had for the past decade from cable subscriptions.

Unfortunately many providers aren't succombing to their demands and their revenue continues to drop. With all the dollars they've shelled out for exclusive contracts in these games it's gonna be a problem. The mouse doesn't like to lose money.

Unfortunately, much like watched channels subsidizing minor ones, I fear that the lesser viewed sports like Mac stuff will start to be dropped. They kept buying it up because the ratings were better than poker or whatever, but if rvenue is dropping they may need to revert to cheaper programming even if it means less viewership.

Unfortunately I think they have paid way too much for content for a true subscription model to be viable for them to profit. Which is a shame because thats the future...

The Georgia - UL Monroe game is currently in a weather delay due to lightening. SEC Network has already said they will show the Georgia game in its entirety once it returns. With at least a 45 min mandatory delay the Georgia game will not end before the BG kickoff. Unless you have SEC alternates more than likely you will miss the start of the BG game. That will probably mess up the recording process as well. Why does BG always seem to have issues with games having some sort of issues, i.e. technical issues

Even if they decide to stick with the Georgia-Louisiana Monroe game past 4 p.m. ET, I would think that Watch ESPN will let us stream the Bowling Green game from the start. Just a hunch.

Yes. The issue I have is we don't have SEC network. We'll be going to a pizza pub to watch the game so we might be stuck with ULM/Georgia over our game for a while. My WatchESPN won't let us watch SEC network and I can't bounce off the pizza pub's WatchESPN so I hope either a) Georgia gets back to it now or b) the ULM/Georgia game is delayed until late tonight.
