I remember when Notre Dame syndicated a condensed replay of Saturday's game on Sunday morning before the NFL came on. Lindsay Nelson and Paul Hornung were more familiar than our pastor back then . You had your one..ONE...ABC game on Saturday, Notre Dame on Sunday and then the college football highlight show on ABC that ran right before the NFL and that was it for college football. Although I kind of remember LSU copying what Notre Dame did for a time on Sunday nights...but who the hell cares about LSU in Ohio?

Kids today with your smart phones, Netflix subscriptions and 8 million college football games a week...you have it easy.

The U, Florida and Florida State were easy wins for Notre Dame until ESPN came along and the conferences beat the NCAA in court and won the right to cut their own deals. Then it all exploded and the money became enough to worry about

Let me add to this "get off my lawn" old man post..

Yes, Sunday mornings were always a trip to the Church of Football for me as well growing up. I hated the Irish but watched the Notre Dame replay at around 10 a.m. because it was the only football that was on to get my NFL day started. I remember Tom Clement, Tom Gatewood, Dave Casper...as well as Lindsay Nelson in those god-awful checked sport jackets with Paul Horning off a night of drinking. They would always jump ahead to later action to show just the Irish highlights. Pissed me off.

Sunday mornings you also had the coaches shows. I could catch Indiana's Lee Corso show on channel 33 out of Fort Wayne, Corso was a trip to watch back then. I remember he got beat something like 63-7 by the Buckeyes and his "play of the day" was a fake punt that worked. You' had thought the Hoosiers had won the game by the way he was talking. We could also get the Purdue coach's show with Alex Agase, but that wasn't nearly as much fun to watch.

I was also able to catch a lot of different NFL games with a good antenna in Northeast Ohio. I could watch the Bears on the Fort Wayne channels, the Lions on Toledo stations, the Bengals on Dayton stations and the Browns on WLIO in Lima. Some how I beat the blackouts.

And I walked to school uphill in snow both ways...

No matter how this game goes, good luck on the rest of the season. Any team in Ohio that isn't osu is good with me.

+1 :supz:
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
