Re: 7 true frosh played today
Not many years ago I would have been disappointed in this. I've changed my tune on redshirts. Although a 5th year player is still better than a 1st year player (the same player), redshirting a true Fr has a built in assumption that the player will be available all those years. Many players do not make it through their college career without injury. Add to that transfers, dismissals etc.... and I now believe you should play them when you have them as long as they are willing and able to play.
I thought #13 Bozeman looked pretty good out there. Another young one that was hustling and has good speed was Ballew. To me, that is one of the fun things about each year in college football..........seeing who will be the next set of guys that we consider our best players.

Not saying the partic. List is inaccurate, but several of these kids are wearing duplicate #s of regular starters or backups. Of course some could be on special teams, (which might explain some our problems)

That list was taken off of the box score (link below) and certainly could be inaccurate, although I know I saw a few of them on the field for sure.Class of 61 wrote:Not saying the partic. Re: 7 true frosh played today
Babers said only THREE true frosh were in game, 2 on def., 1 on spec. Teams.
So i'm guessing my theory might be correct.
