any reports on if they're coming?
be nice to see a new road sweater. the brown is fine, but the font for "Bowling Green" is generic and blah.

new nike unis?

Re: new nike unis?
When the announcement was first made I was told we probably wouldn't be getting Nike sweaters due to our existing deal with Warrior. But, the last I heard it had moved to a "maybe."

Re: new nike unis?
according to the chatter in the Tech thread @USCHO, the WCHA is switching in the second half of the season to wear darks at home.
that leaves us short on variety at home, unless they count the orange sweaters as darks. which they haven't in the past.

Our orange sweaters are considered "dark."
Something to keep in mind is that only football and basketball received free uniforms from Nike. The rest of the teams got a 50% discount off cost.

Nike is not in the hockey business anymore so you won't see any new "Nike" uni's. Also, I don't believe the sweaters are Warrior either, I believe they are SP with a Warrior patch sewn on them like the Adidas patch used to be. Not sure if you'll see a swoosh somewhere or not besides on the workout, travel and coaches and staff gear.
Re: new nike unis?
Nike is certainly in the hockey business still, but not so much on the American side. Ohio State, Minnesota, and Penn State are Nike schools and wear Nike sweaters. As well, the 2014 Olympic sweaters were all Nike. However, Air Force and Army are both Nike schools and do not wear Swoosh jerseys.
It was a bit ironic that we dropped Adidas a year before they decided to get into the hockey business with the NHL.

The sweaters were designed by Gemini Athletic if memory serves me correctly.The4thHansonBro wrote:Nike is not in the hockey business anymore so you won't see any new "Nike" uni's. So I stand corrected on those schools but they're not all over the equipment like they used to be. I would imagine Michigan will be added to that list next year. Maybe will see the transition as we cycle through uniform sets.BGDrew wrote:Nike is certainly in the hockey business still, but not so much on the American side. Adidas has been in the hockey business for years. They've had branded jerseys for Michigan and Wisconsin for years. And remember, Adidas owns Reebok, so Adidas has actually been working with the NHL for many years.
