For the home opener...all brown? Or maybe orange helmet, brown jersey, orange pants

Give us some orange already. I'm kind of browned-out already.

Like Flip, I'd like to see orange pants, brown jerseys and orange helmets. I, for one, cannot get enough brown.

Anyone else notice the orange on our logo on the helmet and on the stripe down the helmet are a different color of orange than the orange that outlines the numbers on our jerseys and pants? I looked weird on my hi-def TV today. Wonder if the orange helmet will also have the same problem?

Overall, I do like the new unis...especially if they are winning.

Oh yeah. There's absolutely no consistency. The helmet logo, facemasks, and number outlines are all different shades.

IIRC, the orange featured on the brown helmets is a "metallic orange" finish, which would explain the different shade. The photos of the regular finish orange helmets looked to be the same shade as the orange in the uniforms.

Yes, it's metallic.

Speaking of shades: Is it me, or are helmets and uniforms a little on the dark side of our usual color of brown? I saw the game in person yesterday, and even in person it was somewhat difficult to tell if the team was wearing brown or black.

(I had the same reaction watching the Tennessee game on television last week.)

I like the uniforms overall, but it might be worth tweaking that shade just a bit the next time the team orders uniforms.

Also, while I'm not at all "browned out," (to quote BGSU33), I woudln't mind seeing more orange mixed in with the brown. I have always preferred brown home jerseys, but orange helmets or pants would look good with that. I like both of our school colors, and I think they look good together.

I would loooove to see a helmet with the primary color that metallic orange finish. Not expecting to see it, but that would be awesome.

I'm definitely ready for more orange. The current iteration of Brown isn't as fugly as older versions, but I'm still ready for some orange.

Technically our colors are burnt orange and seal brown. Ever see a brown seal? Very dark, almost black. I think this color brown is closer to what it should be. I love it!

That's my point. If you use different materials, you have to shade all the colors to make them match. Our primary orange color will come out different on a metallic helmet finish versus a non-metallic finish...and another color altogether on clothing.

My wife's in automotive coatings and you'd surprised how many different colors go into making the car consistent. Bumpers, dash, top coat, steering wheel, moldings, etc. all get a slightly different color shaded to match.

It looks like we made no efforts to shade the new helmets with the new unis. Not saying it has to be perfect, but it's a noticeable difference the way it is now.

Looked black to me at the Tennessee game too.

The university has defined the colors precisely.

The uniforms look a bit darker than that to my eyes.
