One more thing

Miami, at 11-3, faces this....
@Akron
@BG
@Kent
@Marshall

It's possible we'll be tied with Miami for the best record in the MAC. We MUST beat them at home.

OK, let's take a deep breath.

Miami has a tough road home. But they're going to win at Marshall, so at a minimum, that's 12-6. My guess is they go 2-2 on the way home--probable win against Akron.

In my view, we have the toughest road home. We have the top two teams in the conference, one on the road. The game at NIU is vital. But one game at a time. We're playing a team tomorrow that beat us by 24 or something. We will have to play well to get to 11.

The team that we should really watch is Ohio. They have three home games, one with a wounded Akron team and one with EMU, and one with Buffalo. Of their two road games, one is at Marshall. They easily go 4-1 for a 12-6 record.

Whoa! One game at a time!

I'll be the first to say I never expected to see us in first place in the West on the 15th of February, but that doesn't necessarily make us the best team, I still like Western, despite their recent slide and I'm looking forward to seeing a rather competitive game tomorrow at AA.

That being said, tomorrow's game is of HUGE significance here's why:

Right now we're the #2 seed in the MAC tourney, no play-in game, as of now our ticket to the Gund is punched as long as we finish BUT . . .

should we falter tomorrow at home against a team we don't match-up well against we fall all the way to a #5-7 seed with one game.

Here's the math . . .

Akron and OU play tomorrow in a game that also has significance. OU with a win at home has a better MAC record by two games with a win and a BG loss, that's bad. Akron with their win in AA already owns the tie-breaker. Miami would still be the #1 seed, Western for the time being b/c of games becomes the #2 seed temporarily, OU at 9-5 is #3, Buffalo at 9-6 is #4, #5 is where the cluster you know what starts . . . Akron is 8-6 and has a tie-breaker over BG as does Ball State, Akron has the tie-breaker over Ball State and UT as well. UT and BG split, but BG has the better record overall, the only team that BG has the tiebreaker over is Kent. Meanwhile Kent who appears to be in the worst shape in this mess has the tiebreaker over Akron.

Bascially we just need a win tomorrow against Ball State!

I'll probably be there, Freak... especially if work is as slow as it was last night.

Don't look now but Marshall is playing pretty well now and anyone having to play in Huntington will have a tough game.
