My thoughts:

Firstly Dino is SPOT ON talking about the WSJ article. College coaches must win games and the spread/quick hit systems are better at doing that than running a more NFL-esque system.

Secondly, I don't like Dino getting some personal pub right now. I want him on the sidelines for at least one more year next year. Specifically I want to see MattJ get a 6th year of eligibility with Dino on the sidelines in the horseshoe.

Thirdly, I like the thoughts of him saying "let me take my stuff up there." NFL coaches are pansies and afraid of change. The straight up air raid stuff we do won't work in the NFL, but there are a LOT of concepts that we use that could be effective at that level if they got some creative offensive minds up there. Chip Kelly is having offensive success with his systems, and I'd like to see more offensive minds up at that level...the good ol' boys NFL network of coaches cannot work with the new age of QB prospects, it's not the college coaches' faults.

Related topic. It seems to me Johnson has a quicker release and stronger arm than two years ago. His reads are better and I've been impressed with his fade routes.

I'm thinking Johnson gets a legit shot at the NFL.

+1,000,000

If Babers stays and Johnson got another year, we have a very legitimate shot at going into the Horseshoe and winning on opening day.

Babers said last year at a coaching event I was at that he doesn't take jobs based on money. There are obviously other factors involved in going to a Power 5 school. We'll have to see how things play out this year first, and enjoy the ride. We've waited a long time for this type of exciting football in BG.

The national media know 2 things about Babers and BG: the Maryland win and the Baylor connection. They combine the two and automatically assume he'll get offers at the end of the year.

They don't know (or care to know) that we have two extremely challenging non-conference games to play followed by a equally difficult slate of MAC games. There is a lot that can happen between now and then and anything other than laser-like focus on the task at hand would be a mistake. Maryland was 27-27 into the fourth quarter and the total yardage statistics that are endlessly cited mean nothing if we don't win.
