For those in NE Ohio, I believe the game will be on Channel 5, WEWS, In Cleveland. I also noticed WTOV in Steubenville is picking up the game if you live down that way.

The game will not be on Chicago Comcast. Directv Ch 665. This channel is only for Subscribers in the Chicago area. This channel is their version of Fox Sports. It's a regional channel. You won't pick it up in BG. Can't even get it in Indy. Now I do subscribe to ESPN Gameplan, so their is a chance it may be one one of those channels 788-793, if not hopefully ESPN3. And sports bars cannot get Comcast Chicago either, unless it's in Chicago area.

Really? Getting a game on WEWS Channel 5 is kind of a big deal. That means a lot of eyeballs potentially will be on us, so long as they don't change the channel in 3 seconds.

I'm guessing Kent and Akron don't have games worth watching this week...those teams usually get first dibs on local NE Ohio stations if the Buckeyes aren't in the equation.

I am a Direct TV subscriber with the Sports Package and I can never get anything on that channel other than a screen that says "you are not authorized to watch this channel, please call Direct TV to subscribe."

I believe you only get your "in-market" sports channels and not all the others. For example, I get the Fox Sports Ohio here in Cleveland but I can not get the Fox channels from Detroit, New England, etc. Channel 665 CSN is part of the Comcast Sports Network and I don't believe its part of your sports package unless you live near Chicago.
I'm in Columbus and have DTV -- and it's listing the game on that channel for us. I also have the sports package, so I get the channel. Now, whether the guide is accurate or not, won't be known until kickoff. In the meantime, I'm glad Ch. 53 is carrying the game locally. I like BG getting exposure in the Columbus market, because there are a lot of very good recruits in and around Central Ohio.

Falconwriter. The game will show up on the guide just like every other shows, i.e Cubs, White Sox games, etc. However when it's time for kickoff and you turn to the channel Directv will come up with a message saying your not authorized for that channel. The bars cannot get around that either. Hopefully some other channel will pick up the game later in the week and broadcast it. Looks like ESPN3. You can call the bars and ask if they are telivising the game and they will say Yes but they are just going off the guide. Someone else even mentioned in this thread that for years they could never get anything live on that channel and they are correct. So don't hold your breath that your going to watch the game on Ch 665 unless you live in the Chicago area.

I didn't think the college sports were subject to the regional blackout restrictions, are they?

I know if you have DirecTV and DON'T have the sports package you won't get the out of market sports stations. I know if you do get the sports package you will get those stations but all MLB, NHL, NBA games on those out of market stations will still be blacked out like you're describing. But I thought the college games would usually be shown on the out of market stations if you had the sports pack?

I haven't subscribed to the sports package for several years, so I could be off, but I'm pretty sure when I did I was always able to watch out of market college games. I remember seeing Pac10 games on the west coast channels, etc.

Of course all of these conference TV contracts have changed 10 times since then with ESPN holding most of the broadcast rights to pretty much everything now, so who knows. It could be that ESPN owns the rights to this game and let that sports station carry it, but only for local subscribers. I really don't know.

And if that's the case why would a CHICAGO station be the only ones showing BG/Memphis???

I dunno, I've got a wedding to be at so I won't be watching either way, but that's how I understood the broadcast issues...

The so-called American Sports Network seems to be a successor to our previous regional broadcast, which filled in the gap created when the Big Ten stopped airing its noon games on regional television and shifted to the Big Ten Network.

Here is the footprint. I can't promise all of these stations will air our games. But many will:

Ohio
- Cincinnati: WKRC-2 (CW), WSTR (MyTV)
- Cleveland: WEWS-2 (Cozi TV)
- Columbus: WWHO (CW), WSYX-2 (MyTV)
- Dayton: WRGT-2 (MyTV)
- Steubenville: WTOV-3 (MeTV)
- Toledo: WNWO-2 (Retro TV)
- Charleston/Huntington: WCHS-2 (Get TV)

Michigan
- Detroit: WMYD (MyTV20), WXYZ-2 (Bounce TV)
- Flint: WBSF (CW)
- Grand Rapids – Kalamazoo – Battle Creek: WWMT-2 (CW)

New York
- Albany: WCWN (CW), WRGB-2 (This TV)
- Buffalo: WNYO (My TV)
- Rochester: WHAM-2 (CW)
- Syracuse: WSTQ (CW)

http://www.mac-sports.com/news/2015/9/3 ... 52549.aspx" target="_blank

That's probably not an exhaustive list. The network has a device to help people figure out what other stations or networks near them might have the game.

And if all that fails, stream it from ESPN3. I feel confident they'll have it.

I can remember when the only Bowling Green game anyone would televise was our bowl game, with our Falcon logo rendered in the color green.

This is going to be a great game. It deserves to be in ESPNU or something -- and while that won't be the case this weekend, we've still come a long way, friends.

I know there are a couple of threads on this but does anybody know if ESPN3 is regional?

I'm logged into WatchESPN on my iPad through my Verizon FiOS subscription here in Florida and it is not showing me the game for tomorrow on E3. Starting to freak out.

Do I need to try to bum a TWC login from a friend up north? I know last fall I caught a couple of games down here but I was logged in with our OH TWC account which we no longer have.

This looks to be too good of a game to not be widely distributed. ](*,)

I don't see it either.

But there is a link from the athletic department to this page:

http://espn.go.com/watchespn/index/_/id ... ling-Green" target="_blank

So we hopefully will be good to stream.

Another programming note. If the game is shown on Directv Channel 665, which I still have my doubts, it will be joined in progress at 3:30, so you will miss a portion of the 1st quarter.

I know that some times in the past if a game was on BCSN it would be blacked out regionally on ESPN3. I'm not sure if the same thing applies here with ASN or not, I would assume it doesn't but since it's ESPN sub licensing the broadcast, ESPN3 should still be good. Hopefully the good IT folks at ESPN manage to update the game listings before kickoff tomorrow.
