Purdue Roll Call
Who is going? We may make the trip if we can get the home on wheels back up and running.
We made the trip in 2003, and last year we attended the Nebraska vs Purdue game.
It is a good tailgate experience as long as the weather cooperates as they have you park on a big grass field.

Whatever you did in 2003, do the same thing this time.MajorFalcon92 wrote:Who is going? We may make the trip if we can get the home on wheels back up and running.

I've been waiting for this game for years since it was put on the schedule, but it doesn't look like I'll be able to make the trip. Been working way too late on Friday nights and have baby duty (and doodie) on Saturday.

I've got in-laws in town that would watch her in a heartbeat, but they do that a couple days a week as it is. Though with tickets going for $6 or so on StubHub, I could probably bring them all along.hammb wrote:Dude, you gotta outsource that s**tTG1996 wrote:I've been waiting for this game for years since it was put on the schedule, but it doesn't look like I'll be able to make the trip. Re: Purdue Roll Call
Wish I could make it. I have a commitment out here this weekend.
Note ... if you drive through West Lafayette in the morning and you see a bunch of drunk college kids storming the bars from 6 am to noon and they all are dressed in Halloween costumes, do not drive to the nearest optometrist. Your eyes do not deceive you. You are witnessing Breakfast Club. And it was a lot of fun back in the day. The students start drinking before each home game at about 6, they all wear Halloween costumes (satirical costumes are recommended), and screwdrivers flow like water. Buy me a drink next time you see me and I'll tell you some of my costumes and some of the costumes I saw. There were some good ones.
My favorite campus area bar is Harry's Chocolate Shop. It opened during prohibition ... "chocolate shop." Good Purdue atmosphere there, definitely recommend post-game. A bit farther is Nine Irish Brothers. Great Irish pub. Definitely good for post game drinks. And if you're worried, Purdue football fans are nice to fans of other teams. I've been to most Big Ten places and have received everything from warm welcomes to stuff thrown at us with every obscenity imaginable. Purdue is by far on the nice end of the spectrum. So if you're in orange and brown at a bar afterwards, no worries. And if you do get any problems, I truly will be hurt. While my first college love is Bowling Green, I will always be loyal to Purdue and I feel the university has a great tradition in sportsmanship to uphold.
If you're up for more of a quiet atmosphere, walk across to Lafayette and check out any of the pubs there. My personal favorite is Lafayette Brewing Company - good food and great beer. I stop there every time I'm in town. For more of a historical vibe, check out the Knickerbocker Saloon - Indiana's oldest bar. As I recall they do not have beer on tap - everything is bottled - but the environment is enjoyable and you will often find live music there. Where West Lafayette caters to the students, Lafayette caters to the towines. During the end of grad school, I found myself spending more nightlife across the river in Lafayette and if I had to do it again, I'd have lived over there instead of in WL.

Re: Purdue Roll Call
Anyone know the market price for tickets on game day?
I have to believe they will be plentiful. We will be looking for 5.
Hoping to roll in later tonight if everything goes as planned.

Re: Purdue Roll Call
StubHub has been as low as $15 this week. Seats midfield behind the BG bench were in the $35 range and up. Not sure where BG's fans are sitting, but it looks like there were available seats all along the BG sideline from the tunnel to the 50.

Re: Purdue Roll Call
I bought mine through the BG ticket office so I would be sure to get seats in the BG section. They mailed them to me earlier this week and mine are in section 117

Re: Purdue Roll Call
BTW, I do have one extra ticket in section 117 (row 18) I would sell for $15.00. My traveling partner backed out. If interested, PM me and we can make arrangements for me to get it to you tomorrow.
Re: Purdue Roll Call
Should be in around 10am, where are people parking!!! Last time I was there for a ND game and it was insane. That was our BG/IU game at noon and ND/PU game at 8, 2 years ago.
Re: Purdue Roll Call
I'm parking in the IM Gold Lot. Planning to get in there between 7:00 and 7:30 Here is the map:

I'm hoping getting there that early will give me access to the lot up on the corner of Stadium and Mc Cormick Rd. That's the one I'm shooting for.
