Alexander loves Ohio U and Miaudi and seems to have a thing against BG. This clown picked Akron and CMU to play for the MAC title last year. When he wrote that article about BG being a home cupcake for Akron, I sent it to Coach Babers. Coach wrote me back and said he hung that article in the locker room for all to see.

BG will not lose a MAC East game this year. Sure Ohio has looked good...they played an average Marshall team, Idaho, Southeastern LA and MN. Akron? Wow, BiG wins over Savannah State and La-Lafayette.

We get OU and Akron at home this year and certainly didn't have a problem beating both on the road last year.

Buffalo, Ohio and Akron are marginally better, Kent is better, but wont challenge, Miami and UMass both look terrible. No one has improved enough to close the huge gap.

BG clinched the east in the first 6 conference games last year. This year the offense is vastly better and the defense is the same if not better. If Matt Johnson stays healthy, no one touches BG.

Let's not get carried away here. We have yet to see a conference game. The MAC is good this year and we have some injury concerns. So lets win a conference game or two before getting too confident.

I hope the team is focused solely on Buffalo right now, not conference title games.

Speaking of that: My hunch is that Stony Brook and the MAC will end up getting together in a few years. Another school would be needed to make that work. I wonder if that second school will end up being Albany or if UMass will reconsider its decision to stick with the Atlantic 10 in most sports.

Stony Brook-to-the-MAC is purely a hunch. But it is well known that Stony Brook is eyeing an eventual move to FBS. The MAC would be a logical fit.

We played the west later in the season last year when Knapke was beat up. With MJ healthy and Knapke a year older...with even more weapons to work with? Good luck with that.

OH has been a paper tiger the last few years, Akron will have to prove they're back for me to buy in. UB and UMass are our threats.

Massachusetts is the 2nd worst team in the division IMO, only ahead of Miami. How do you figure that game will be a deciding game toward anything? I get that losing that would be damaging toward the overall goal of getting to Detroit, but it's not like Massachusetts is going to finish .500 in conference play, much less get anywhere near winning the East.

Your takes are usually spot on, but this one you're going to expound on because I don't get it. To me Umass is bad.

Maybe part of the thinking is scheduling? They did draw EMU from the West (although they drew Toledo as well) and they miss Ohio within the East which should help them. But even with that schedule I'd be surprised if they did any better than beat Miami and EMU and then picked off 1 more win somewhere.
