WCHA.TV

Post by BleedOrange&Brown »

Hey there, longtime BG hockey fan trying to stay up to date from Florida. Has anyone every purchased the WCHA.TV season pass? It looks like it has almost all of the home games and I am curious about the quality of this feed/service. Any thoughts would be great, thanks so much!

Yes, we have purchased it the past couple of years. There always seems to be some bugs to work out initially because they keep changing carriers, but they're generally worked out by the second or third week. The quality depends on the feed coming from the host school and not the service itself. BG's is in HD and is top notch. If you want to check it out, this past weekend's exhibition games were streamed for free so you should be able to create an account and watch the game since they archive them for later playback.

Great to hear thanks. I did watch the exhibition and was pleased so it's good to hear that level of feed can be expected throughout the year. Thanks!

My only complaint thus far with this year's offering is the DVR controls aren't as strong as last year's.

The quality of each feed depends on that home school's video source. Schools like BG, Bemidji, and Mankato are very good because they just stream the local tv feed. Anchorage and Huntsville only streamed in standard definition last year, though.

Agree. It was difficult to work with. We re-watched it yesterday and found the lack of DVR controls to be a bit of a pain in the AZZ.

Video quality was very good. Wish they'd set the camera in the middle of the press box, however...

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
