In fact I have generally been avoiding any of i75 between perrysburg to route 6 and i would recommend that to anybody coming to a game as well. The highway isn't worth it right now. Any small fender bender accident will have you in stopped traffic for an hour or two because there are no shoulders to get around anything anymore.

If I were coming from Cleveland are I would take 475 around and come down 25. If coming from the south I'd get off at cygnet and come up 25.

Seriously the risk on i75 just isn't worth it for me anymore. These routes might cost you 3-5 minutes compared to a perfect flowing highway traffic but if there is an accident they'll save you an hour or two. And I'm not kidding when I say I can see 75 from my house and it probably averages once or twice a week that I'll see completely stopped traffic.
Another alternative if you're coming from Cleveland or anywhere east of BG is to get off the Turnpike at route 53 and take it south to US 6 just north of Fremont and follow US 6 into BG. This route is only a few minutes slower than taking the Turnpike to I-75 south anyways.
That's a fine route as well but if you're approaching town on route 6 make sure you get off at bowling Green road (which is probably how your GPS would direct you anyhow) as opposed to following 6 back to 75 where it gets crappy again.

This 75 project just sucks. And supposed to be a long one too.

The project is supposed to last through November 2016 last I heard, but that could always change. As for a GPS, they usually have you stick to main routes. It wouldn't surprise me if it told you to take 6 to 75 to Wooster rather than 6 to Bowling Green Rd.

This is probably your best bet. I believe there is construction at 6 and 53 (new roundabout), but it should be easier to navigate than the mess at 475/75. Not sure what time you are coming into town, but 75 south to 475 west can back up quickly as well.

The bridge slide has been delayed and won't be happening this week.

And the end date for construction on 75 has been moved up to July 2016.

:goodman: I know it's before the time of most of you, but thats the way us "old folks" used to take to get to BGSU... In fact it was the ONLY way for several years... and the Fremont by pass didn't exist at 1st. We had to drive thru Fremont, fight train traffic etc. ( kind of like we had to walk uphill to and from school?) \:D/ \:D/

If you're coming in to BG on route 6 from Fremont, turn right on Bowling Green Road and follow that into town. It brings you in on Wooster Street and goes over I-75 and right to the Doyt. So, if the "bridge slide" is slated for next weekend, you turn off of route 6 before you get to the closure at I-75.

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
