This. I often wonder why we don't do this more.

Toledo
BG
Ohio
CMU
NIU
WMU
Buffalo
Ball State
Akron
UMass
Kent State
EMU
Miami OH
Unbelievable how far Miami has fallen off the map - nationally and regionally. Maybe the Ivy League will come calling. 8-[

MU has had 2 winning seasons in the last 10 years...and going into this year, were 38-84 in the last 10 years.

I shall not shed any tears....

For anybody that says winning the MAC is priority one and that the season is pass/fail based on that...the Miami Redhawks have as many MAC titles as BG does over the past decade. You may remember the miracle 4th and 20 tipped pass reception on the final drive of the 2010 title game in which Miami upset NIU.

No sane person would put Miami in the same echelon as BGSU, MAC titles notwithstanding. I'll take our P5 wins, B1G ownage, and our 64-62 aggregate record from 2005-2014 thanks

I don't think any Miami fans would say those years they won the MAC were failures, despite what they did or didn't do against P5 opponents.

Their 10 year record speaks for itself and no Redskin fan would be happy about the long term trend, not that I feel the least bit sorry for them. I'm not sure how many of their fans would want to pull down a championship banner in exchange for saying they beat an Iowa State that year.

Miami will be back, they have the history, facilities, money, and backing to be successful. I hope they are. The conference as a whole is better and more fun when they are good. But, their futility is head scratching. Makes you appreciate the job Clawson did.

The MAC is at it's best when, NIU, Toledo, BG, and Miami are all good.

After games on 10/17, the East Division is looking a lot more clear cut. Really 4 of the teams have already been eliminated from contention, leaving just BG, Ohio, and Kent as contenders to win the division title. If BG beats Kent and Ohio the next 2 weeks this thing will be all but put to bed by November 4th. On the flip side if either Kent can beat BG they will vault right back into a tie for the division lead. Ohio would keep pace by beating Buffalo next week. Ohio travels to BG November 4th, and depending on how things turn out perhaps the Kent vs Ohio game on November 10th might be of interest.

Bowling Green - 3-0
Ohio - 2-1
Kent State - 2-1
Akron - 1-2
Buffalo - 0-2
Massachusetts - 0-2
Miami - 0-3

The West Division meanwhile is very interesting.

Toledo - 3-0
Western Michigan - 2-0
Central Michigan - 2-1
Northern Illinois - 2-1
Ball State - 1-2
Eastern Michigan - 0-3

Toledo and Western Michigan are unblemished in conference play, with the Rockets holding a 1/2 game lead having played 3 conference games to the Boat Rowers' 2. Central Michigan and Northern Illinois are a game behind, the Chippewas holding the tiebreak via a head to head victory over the Huskies. The Broncos hold a head to head tiebreak over Central as well. Toledo is yet to play any of NIU, CMU, or WMU, meaning that this is still very much a 4-team race. This race is likely to be a slow burn for at least 1 more week, as there are no head to head matchups on 10/24 and all play teams they should beat. Toledo faces Massachusetts, Central plays Ball State, NIU faces EMU, and Western is against Miami.

The fighting Franks not even waiting until November to be their typical selves. Now 5-2 (2-1) with @ Buffalo, @ BGSU, vs Kent, vs Ball State, @ NIU remaining. They will find their way to 6-6 or 7-5 again.

Buffalo finds a way to win beat OU this weekend and the MAC East will be pretty much over before November even gets here...
