The guy who covered the BG-Akron game, AFTER getting Bowden's quote about being beaten in all phases of the game STILL indicated Akron has a chance at the E Div. crown due to BG having a much tougher sched. To finish season compared to Zips!
I said before Alexander seemed to dis BG , but this other writer is living in fantasy land if he doesn't realize that tie breakers would favor BG AND OU over Akron even IF we were to stumble ( still possible for any team to do)

Another observation he could make would be that if BG played Toledo's schedule thus far (and vice versa) we'd be the one with the shiny ranking getting scrolled across ESPN all day.

Toledo has actually played 2 Power Five schools (Arkansas and Iowa State).

Smartly, though, they got them at home, their athletic department budget is $5 million less than Maryland, $7 million less than Purdue and they're a historically unsuccessful program holding true to form this year at 2-4. (Both Maryland and Purdue were in bowls more recently as well, including Maryland just last year)

This is a silly argument. It's like when people argue team X is better than team Y because team Y beat team Z. Tennessee beat Bowling Green by 29, Arkansas won at Tennessee , Toledo won at Arkansas therefore.....Toledo is going to kill BG....

They technically played 0 FCS teams since their opener went down as cancelled.

The crossover opponent thing is misleading. They play the tougher conference schedule by having to play everyone in the West. This year, would you rather play Ohio or Central? Kent or NIU?

Bottom line...
When Toledo comes to the Doyt, I hope they are 10-0 and have a shiny #10 next to their name with their fans searching for flights to the Fiesta Bowl. I hope they leave 10-1.

I'm with you. I'm rooting for UT almost as much as I am BG. The atmosphere at the Doyt on that coldass night in November should rock. It might be the first weeknight November game that people actually WANT to be there.
