Ohio predictions

Post by jpfalcon09 »

Weather is looking excellent for this game, early forecast has a high in the lower 70s and lows in the mid 50s. Should be excellent tailgate and football weather for those of you who can make it.

Onto the game...

Ohio has been pummeled into submission the past two weeks, getting waxed at home by WMU and suffering a similar fate last week to Buffalo. They've also been dealing with numerous injuries the last couple games and the extra time off may help them get a few guys back.

With the weather being nice and the opportunity for BG to once again sweep the East division games, I think we see more of the same from the previous three weeks as Bowling Green all but seals up the division for a third straight trip to Detroit.

BG - 63
Ohio - 10

This is a bad offense to face with a banged up defense. Ohio has given up an average of 45 points their last 2 games..BG is averaging 53 the last 2.

Ohio plays it's best game of the season, running the ball with consistency and keeping the Bowling Green offense off the field most of the game and holds them to just 21 points up until the final minute.

Ohio's ground attack also posts 3 td's of their own and the game goes down to the wire, tied at 21. That's when Bowling Green gets the ball with just over a minute left and with quick passes, they move into field goal range with 4 seconds left on the clock.

Tyler Tate lines up for the game winning 28 yard field goal attempt, which gets blocked and run back by the Bobcats for the game winning touchdown as time expires.

Nah, not really. BG by about 40.

IMO, Ohio is the only team in the East that "could" beat BG this year. Yes I know OU has hit a bump in the road again this year. But they have a solid defense when it plays up to its ability, an offense that is capable of making plays both on the ground and through the air, and a good special unit. I actually think BG is gonna get OU's best shot and if we overlook them or leave them hang around and can't put them away, they could make us pay for it. I do think BG "should" win but if we don't come into this game with the mindset and execute like we have the last few games....

OU - 35
BG - 45

Pure unadulterated nonsense....OU is not a threat...they were not a threat and will not be a threat. History will show that UB was the east's 2nd best team. we'll be playing on a fast track because there's dry weather for the foreseeable future and a warm day in the forecast. OU is in the midst of their annual "Tank for Frank" trip to oblivion. They may give up 45 in one half....they wouldn't score 35 if they played 12 quarters.

OU 10

BG 49
Ohio 0

Why? Because that was so fun, let's do it again. It's believable based on the current form of the teams.

I saw that too. Vegas has the opposite feeling than I do about this one as each day that approaches I get more nervous about this game. This game would be huge if we can win it because it would nearly seal the East for us. And considering what we have coming up after this game (at WMU, vs UT, at BSU), getting this win would be crucial. I read an article and Ohio is clearly jacked to play us and I won't be surprised one bit to see them let it all hang out.

The only way I can see OU hanging around in this game is if 1) they come out and run a tempo offense which catches the BG defense off guard and 2) BG is a little flat coming out of the bye and takes a little while to get going. I think the second option holds more plausibility than the first.

Ohio doesn't have the talent to hang with BG over four quarters. Buffalo is the second best team in the division and the only reason they stayed close to BG was because the weather was brutal. It's going to be a fast track tomorrow night with unseasonably warm temps and low winds and that plays right into BG's hands.
