Overall, best team we've had in over a decade. Defense is probably 5th or 6th best we've had in a decade. Just hope that doesn't hurt us, although there's been some improvement it seems. Go Falcons Beat WMU!!!

Only 5th or 6th best? Right now, I think we're better than last year, better than most of the Brandon years from 2005 on, we're better than 2009 and 2010 Clawson...maybe better than 2011. Not as good as 2012 or 2013. I think this defense compares very well to all but two of the last ten years.

I don't think we know that. If I'm Coach Babers, I remind the Falcon players of last season, when we got our butts kicked by Ball State near the end. I remind them that Western Michigan beat us last year.

Bowling Green needs to lock up the East right now. We do not want to go home and play TSUN with the East title still unsettled.

BG leads the MAC in scoring for conf games as well as points given up. Mighty nice trend to see going into the two toughest MAC games of the season.

So many accuse me of being negative. Quit looking at this season through orange and brown glasses and face it that our defense, though improved, is very unlikely to stop or even slow down a good offense. WMU is the toughest test they will face all year. This is reality people. We are on the road facing the best team we have faced all year. Memphis is good but WMU is their equal offensively. I still think we will need to score 60-70 to win.

If we had just beaten Ball State 54-7 it would be spun off as they are a horrible team and it means nothing but when WMU does it they are an instant juggernaut.

So what to win the score will be 70-63? Come on...

This team will be ready.

Period.

Don't think that they don't remember, and that the coaches aren't reminding them, that while they went 5-0 in the division last year, they were also 0-4 against the West. I think these guys have been waiting for these next three weeks all season.

That's the type of effort I expect to see on Wednesday. They want to shut the doubters up - and get back to Detroit...with a 10-2 record!

I don't think wmu is in the same planet as Memphis as a team. Yeah they're good. Yeah it's a very tough teddy on the road.

But they're not nearly as good as Memphis, IMO. And I doubt very seriously they have anywhere near the athletes of Tennessee.

It's not like this team has yet to be tested, although it has been awhile since we've played a team that really deserves to be in the field with us, so that does worry me.

I'm sure wmu will score some points, but if they're going to push tempo that still plays into our hands. In a shootout I'll take lewis and Johnson over anybody in the mac, and most guys elsewhere. Should be an awesome matchup though.

If anyone thinks the race for the East division is not over, I'm willing to take whatever bets that anyone would like to make.

I agree that we should not take anyone lightly and that we should be going full out to win every time we step on the field, as I mentioned earlier. You're right that the coaches should be stressing exactly those points and that we need to keep our foot on the gas pedal at all times.

No matter how much they are reminded of what happened last year against West opponents, the players know the situation and that they are going to be playing in Detroit on 12/4, regardless of what happens in Kalamazoo. I just wonder if knowing that might make any difference in how hard we go at WMU and if there's going to be anything held back in preparation for possibly seeing them again. I'm hoping the veteran leaders on this team keep that from happening.

I don't see any chance we would have a let up against Turdledo just because of our lead in the division. Our guys will be hungry for that one no matter what. I know I am. I'll be burning vacation time to be there.

Calling you out and this wasn't close to the best BG has played.

All doubters have now been alerted, this team has the potential to BEAT EVERYONE!

The Defense bends but doesn't break.
The Offense can run the ball in adverse conditions.
With that said, this team is going to Ford Field with plenty of reasons to believe they CAN WIN!
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.

Forget about Ford Field (for the moment): JUST BEAT TOLEDO. My God, people, winning against that putrid, decaying piece of crap town to the North has become almost Cooper-esque in length and finding ridiculous ways to lose the past half decade. Winning a game against your rival is one of the two or three hallmarks of being a great team (and having a great coach).

This was a great team win that had contributions from all over the place. We know we have the best skill players in the conference, but I want to give a shout out to the O line for their performance last night. MJ took a lot of sacks, but they were generally because he was holding the ball forever, trying to find a target, not because the protection was bad and you really can't lay much of that blame on the line. The backs did a great job running the ball, but much of the success was due to the holes the guys up front were blowing open. Especially effective in the 2nd half when it was clear to everyone that we were running it......the defense still couldn't stop it. Reminded me of that last clock killing drive in the Buffalo game.

Defensive line pressured Terrell all night and after that first drive of the 2nd half, they pretty much put the clamps on the WMU run game. They seemed to pick up momentum as the game went on and I love to see that. Time the big guys up front on both sides of the ball get some pub.

Another guy that doesn't get his due is Joe Davidson. He does a great job, but with the effectiveness of our offense, he doesn't get noticed that much due to the limited opportunities. I'm betting he'll be booting it on Sundays.
