Just said on GameDay that Bowling Green will probably go on to win the MAC.
He was talking about Memphis' resume as a possible playoff team, and pointed to that game as an important win for them.
I love that we're getting talked about nationally, even if it was about one of our close losses. I hope Memphis keeps rising, that was a game we probably should have, and definitely could have won.

"Game Day" also showed the clip of Ronnie Moore leveling the Umpire at the OU game.
(Sure would be a great day for a Sat. 1:00 kick off in BG or Kzoo)

It sure would. But then Joe Blow in San Diego wouldn't be able to get the game on cable, so we better make him happy.
Screw the fans who actually and would fill seat. Thanks MAC, for letting ESPN run the show.

Also likely the game wouldn't be on TV, period...

That was the old choice. Now the choice is ESPN3 (streaming only) or an broadcast that actually appears on cable, such as ESPN2.Falcon137 wrote:Also likely the game wouldn't be on TV, period...
I still think November #MACtion is the way we have to go. We reach many more people that way. But, without question, it is tough on fans.
Re: Kirk Herbstreit
People do watch these games. They make fun of our empty stadiums but they do watch.
Re: Kirk Herbstreit
The ratings for these games are typically on par with reruns of Seinfeld, but I guess it's something.kdog27 wrote:People do watch these games. They make fun of our empty stadiums but they do watch.
I do think these games make it a lot easier to be a fan and follow the team, just more difficult to watch live. I'm not a fan of the weeknight games at all, but I do have to admit I love watching them on tv.
Of course in years past I've made a trip to Kalamazoo and enjoyed bells along with the games...that sort of stuff is no longer possible when the games get slated in the November schedule...
Re: Kirk Herbstreit
This year's November particularly sucks. Even worse now that the UT game is 6pm. Likely would have made it back if that were a Saturday and definitely would have made the short trip to Muncie, but can't swing a day off or two for a weekday game.
The thing that gets to me with the weeknight games is all the P5 fans that are like "Yes! It's MACtion!" during the week, then on the weekend and in other discussions, the MAC doesn't exist. Eff 'em.
