"The NCAA Division 1 team has recently given Andrew Savage a roster spot after the team was cut down to seven defenseman. Savage has played on the ACHA club team for the past 4 years, served as the President during the 2014-2015 season, and was the captain during the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 seasons. We would like to congratulate and thank Savage for all his hard work and commitment during his time with the club hockey team. While it is sad to see such a player go, this is an exciting announcement and we wish the best of luck to Savage as he competes at the NCAA Division 1 level."

According to the athletic department, Andrew has no more remaining NCAA eligibility and will merely serve as a practice player. He will not suit up or travel with the team during any point this season. I'm working on finding out more info because of the strange situation and will post back when I learn more.
