Greene is now 333 yards away from matching Dave Preston's career mark of 3,423 yards.

After the Ohio game, Greene has 696 yards on the season and is 175 yards away from breaking the mark...How cool would it be if he broke the mark against tsun? It could very well happen. Love watching him run....

Looking back to a few years ago, I remember the concern we all had (including myself) about losing Anthon Samuel and hearing how we were moving a WR to RB to try and fill the void. Since then, have we even brought up Samuel once ever since then?? Greene has been TREMENDOUS for us and has become one of my favorite players.

I love watching him play....doesn't go down easily and for a guy that isn't that big, has power. Will be a BiG loss after this year.

I don't know what goes on in practice or the locker room, but from a fan's perspective, I see him as the heart and soul of this team. Yes there have been a few times when he's been overpowered in pass blocking, but the guy always seems to be in the right place, never fumbles, never loafs, is as tough as anyone and is a leader on the field. Dino has said what a high football IQ he has and that's clearly the case when you watch him play.

With the gaudy passing/receiving numbers on this team, TG doesn't get a lot of the headlines, but I think we are really going to miss him next year.

Like 33 said, most of us (myself included) thought we were in big trouble when we lost Samuel and had to stick some unknown, undersized WR in the back field. Now here we are 3 years later talking about him leaving here as the all time school leader in rushing yards in a season and in a career. Who could have predicted that?

He's one of my favorites. All heart. Hope he gets to 1,000 yards again too which he should.

At the time Samuel left...we had a boatload of *** and **** RB's on the roster, so I thought we'd be good there. I was stunned to find out that Clawson was moving an undersized ** WR to RB and starting him.

Dave Clawson is a smart man...

Agree...heart of the team and his brother Trenton has just as much. Both humble kids who do their job every play and don't care much about the headlines. TOTAL TEAM PLAYERS.

Likely to see a heavy dose of him and Coppett, Wednesday night. Forecast looking pretty ugly, rain (possibly heavy) and wind 20-25mph with gusts of 40+. Going to need a big game from Travis.

TG has 82 yards on 9 carries in the first half...he's 92 yards from the career mark. How about a couple long TD runs in the 2nd half??? :-D

Another BiG run for TG!!! Now has 116 on the night...58 yard to go.

148 yards after the 3rd...he's 26 away and the O line is awesome tonight. We have better backs than toledo. Seriously.

TG, the beast, ends the night with 170 yards. Needs 5 to break the record.

I love the fact that he'll be breaking the record against next week's opponent. That'll make the night that much more special.

Crazy to think that a converted WR who no one really had heard of will end up breaking the rushing record while playing three years and missing some games due to injury. The dude is a beast and should be held in the same company as Preston, Pope, etc. Kudos to Dave Clawson for recognizing where Travis belonged and allowing us to watch him dominate.

What an incredible story he is. Think about this.....After 2012 we were suddenly losing our top back. Anthon Samuel had rushed for 844 yards as a Freshman and 998 as a Sophomore. Outside of football family issues had him leaving when we couldn't save a scholarship for him when he was waffling about coming back. At that point in his Career Samuel had a 1842 yard to 10 yard lead on Travis Greene for lifetime rushing yards. Its likely that Greene will finish with more than a 1000 yards more than him.

Also in 2012 we were losing John Pettigrew the top backup at the position 128-562-6tds.
Jamel Martin had a promising first 2 years but fought injuries.
Andre Givens had flashed potential in his first year.

Jump to 2013 and Greene Rushes for 1595 and 11 tds, catches 18-155.
Jump to 2014 new coach passes more 949 yards 12 tds, 27-175 in the air.
Now in 2015 he has 866 yard 10 tds, 20-159 in the air.
He is on pace for 1212 yards 14tds 28-222 in the air.

Had he even switched from WR before Samuel left?
