Of course it is.
But don't you think every Florida Gators fan out there is wishing for Auburn to beat Alabama so Florida won't have to face the Crimson Tide for the SEC Championship and a possible spot in the College Football Playoff?
Don't you think every Iowa Hawkeyes fan is rooting for Michigan State this week, and then if necessary Michigan next week so that they won't have to face Ohio State in the B1G championship and thus have an easier shot at the B1G title and a spot in the CFP?
If your answer is no, you're nuts.
Smart, rational thinking people want their team to be in the best position to reach the goal at hand. People that base their decision making on raw emotion wish for their team to face the best opponent possible for the sake of a hurt ego or to somehow restore ones manhood.
Be very, very careful what you wish for...
I see where you are going with this, but the example you used with Florida and Iowa would have been the mindset going into the MACC in 2013 against Lynch and undefeated, BCS bound NIU. BUT, we got them and we beat them down with no excuses.
But we are talking BGSU vs. UT. Do you think in 2006, OSU vs Mich., #1 vs. #2 that Michigan didn't want another shot at the Buckeyes in a National Championship game?? If the BCS computers spit out a rematch instead of bumping up Florida, do you think the Wolverine fan base would be shitting their pants to have to play their arch rival again and possibly lose a national championship to them because they already got beat?? Bottom line is the MAC East is a joke right now. We have won 17 straight divisional games. That is our "cowardly way to go" that we stuck with that!! We were favored last night by Vegas by 7 to win that game. Just like in 2013, we got the best and we beat the best!! I want to face the best again...and that just happens to be UT!!
Manhood?? This is about pride...something everyone should have.

In the case of 2006 Michigan, where the alternative was not playing for the national championship at all...clearly their fans would want to face Ohio State again. If however, the current system of the CFP had been in effect back then instead of the BCS, I guarantee you pretty much all their fans would've been hoping for Michigan to land at #3 and playing against Florida instead of falling to #4 and having to face OSU in the semifinals. Meanwhile they'd be hoping for whoever #4 was to knock OSU off in the other semifinal game.
With regard to 2013 Bowling Green, Northern Illinois was undefeated. There was never really a point in the season where it didn't look like the East winner would have to go through NIU in the title game. No real hope in rooting for an alternative there. But your point is well taken, BG rose up to the challenge and soundly beat one of the best MAC teams in history to win the MAC title. It was arguably the greatest day in the history of Falcon Football, or at least since the days of Doyt Perry. It may take a similar effort to beat Toledo should the rematch come to pass, and I hope that our fans realize this and know that this is what we're signing up for by wanting to take on our rival again.

You too. NIU is no chump.
Look, I get that they have BG's number but there is no sense in running from them. Got to play them every year. I'd much rather go into the off-season with a chance to end this skid.

After a couple days to feel the sting, I want another shot at them. We beat ourselves...pure and simple. The best team doesn't always win...it's the team that plays best who wins. ut played better while we shot ourselves in the foot repeatedly.
If we play them again and put in a performance like we're capable, no question in my mind we would beat them.

The best I can tell, the only way I believe Toledo now gets to Detroit is by beating WMU and for OU to also beat NIU. If UT fell into a 3-way tie (6-2 with NIU & WMU) or 4-way tie (6-2 with NIU, WMU & CMU), UT would lose out on the tiebreakers based on that being able to happen (meaning WMU beat UT). But I still think there's a good chance they go. I expect UT to beat WMU, it'll likely boil down to what Frankie and the boys do in DeKalb.
I may be the voice of the minority, but I don't care who we play to win the MAC... it doesn't matter if we play Toledo, NIU, WMU, or EMU. This is the league title and ten years from now, the banner will not document who we played. It will only show that we were the CHAMPS....

Good point...I didn't think of that.
