Wow everyone should relax a little. McMetz you guys do a great job with the bgnews and i make sure to pick up one everyday don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Coach was just a little bit upset like everyone else that there wern't people at the game. As for option... it looks to me like you seem to like the coaches and players you don't go watch, ex. women's basketball
but Curt Miller is a solid coach as well
and hockey (my sport)
but from what I've read Scott Paluch is doing a wonderful job with the hockey program.
I'd be willing to bet that if you went to those games you would find something wrong with them too. I don't mean to attack you i just want to point out that men's basketball, and football have all won their conf. chapionshpis or bowl game more reciently than the other two. I like the fact that you bring about a new look, but it always seems to be the same everytime, if you were the AD what would you do different?

Which isn't a bad thing. It gives us freedom to write about whatever we want. Hey, atleast they let us use good old West Hall!!!

Attendance Problems Aren't New at BG. . . Even with WINNING, FIRST PLACE programs.
Remember Antonio Daniels' senior season? We were a top M.A.C. contender and the first 10 games or so we averaged about what are currently averaging. Then The Blade runs a big article with a picture of a mostly empty Anderson Arena pointing out how AD is a once in a generation kind of player and the fans just aren't showing up. Then, the remainder of the MAC schedule we packed Anderson and even sold out 2 or 3 games the week of the game.
Fan attendance is not only a BG issue (and I am NOT saying it is ok, either).
In the Cols Dispatch today, the lead story in the Life Section is on the lack of attendance for the osu womens team. They are #2 in the nation (highest ranking ever) just 2 loses, and they average 4400. TN avg 14K, UConn 13K, Purdue 10K, Penn St 9600, Texas 7200, for some compairsons - with teams not as good.
Attendance is by the 'older generation' retiree's and high school girls, NOT the blackeye students.
The coach even said . . "the lack of attendance is a national trend that affects both mens and womens games. I don't think it has anything to do with ohio state".
So, it is a battle that others are fighting too.
Still no excuse not to have 'Ol Anderson busting with FALCON FANS !!
There is also an 2 interestering (Sports) articles about the FB Coaches and their 'means' to support recruits, etc. One incident by Tressel and one by an Asst Coach (cars, loans, and simple little things like that) but I guess that should be on the FB Forum.
I know the bad feelings toward Ron Lewis. But i clearly remember his statements on his descision to come to BG. He was being looked at by all the MAC schools and a few Big 10 schools. Dakich invited him and teammate Raheem "Overrated" Moss to the BG-Mich game at AA. Mcleods heroics and a RABID full house swung him to BG. He mentioned that the atmosphere and seeing the love the players got was his deciding factor. Maybe the lack of support was one of the reasons he left (and others)?
