Azzani is going to be Durkin's OC at Maryland. Really don't see Briles as a realistic option...it's almost nonsensical to suggest it. ;)

I don't see how it's nonsensical????

He's the OC at a Big 5 school that has a connection to the offense we've run the last two years....certainly not any less sensical than this JMU guy.

Maybe we can bring Clawson back???

The Clawfense just had a punter break the record for punts in a season!!!!

He's been listed as a candidate for 2-3 jobs. Flippers just being a jerk about it to get himself going. I'd suggest popping him on ignore.

He's never coached for anyone but his father.... why... other than his connection to this particular variant of the spread... would he even be on the radar. Has Kingston ever shown an inclination to make a hire based on the system we have in place? He didn't with Babers... or for that matter Huger or Jans. Briles has applied for the HC job at North Texas... that job makes sense for him. Transplanting to the Midwest ...not so much.

The "JMU" guy..Everett Withers... was an NFL assistant... the HC at North Carolina the year they broomed Butch Davis, was DC at Minnesota and Ohio State and was a finalist or the FCS coach of the year... if he's at all interested in coming here he's a far better candidate than Briles. If you want to hire a guy that knows our offense..a.just hire Lewis or Lynch.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Ward is the interim head coach. Does this mean he is the most likely if the current staff to be promoted to HC or was he given the position due to experience? And if Ward were to get the HC position, would he keep the offense ad it is? I sure hope so because Ward is one of my personal favorites for the job from what he did with this young defense.

No matter who the coach we get is and what their background is I would like to think they would have the sense to see what we have at BG is working and there is no need to change the offense much. Even as boring of style Clawson ran he really opened it up in the second half of 2013 and it led to a championship. Way too much talent that fits the current system to blow it up.

UT had one interim bc Candle was expected to go to ISU with Campbell and they still came back to Candle anyway.

Kingston will make the right call regardless. He's proven more than capable time and again

Well one thing Ward needs to get in order (based on the post game press conference from the MACC) is there will be no "buying any backpacks" or anything along those lines. What the heck was that all about??? When I was watching it and heard Austin Valdez say that, my jaw about hit the ground. It also didn't help that SportsCenter aired it later that night either. That was embarrassing and unsettling to see.

I missed that. Did a quick web search and didn't come up with anything. Can someone elaborate further on what Valdez said, for those of us that didn't catch it? Thanks.

Everett Withers and Bob Stitt are officially available after their respective teams lost this weekend in the FCS playoffs.

John Grass' Gamecocks take on Charleston Southern on Friday night on ESPN2.

It's in reference to what he said in the post game interview.
