I miss the good ol' days when everyone would complain about not getting a bowl bid. Now everyone complains about what bowl BG goes to. Oh, the irony of it all.

Yes because bowls use to reward a good season. Now teams that are 5-7 overall and 2-6 in their conference get bowl games. More than half of the MAC is in a bowl game. I didn't think I would ever see that. It loses the appeal for me when anybody and everybody plays in a bowl game. And we're bound to end up with crap matchups with this many teams.

Thanks for stopping by. We're generally a fun group here. I think we know we're in for a heck of a matchup with you guys. Like South Alabama last year, we entered the bowl season with a "Who?" mentality and it turned out to be one of the best games of the bowl season. Here's to 120 points scored and a BG win!

The date is tough for travel.

Most people take off work after Christmas, not before. And being away right before the holiday can be quite complicated with family obligations, etc.

Amen. Meyer went 8-3 and 9-3 and BG never got a bowl bid either year. Now that's a flawed system.

No problem in filming that just due to the fact that have you ever seen anyone except a kid riding a yellow school bus for the first time get into any hurry to get onto that yellow school bus.

Yeah that is the real problem.....way to many bowls. The MAC, Sun Belt, MWC, and CUSA should really only have 2 maybe 3 bowl tie ins.....Akron should not be going to a bowl....Big 5 conferences should should get 4 or 5 tie ins.... 6-6 or 7-5 shouldn't be good enough for post season play.

He did post once, telling us we pretty much had the game locked up days before the announcement. Perhaps he senses the disappointment here, or perhaps outreach to Georgia Southern fans (who surely will bring thousands to Mobile) is keeping him busy.

If MobileBama is monitoring this thread: I don't think any Falcon fans are down on the City of Mobile, specifically. Mobile was a charming host in 2004 and 2009. I personally hope to go back again some day. This is a great game for the MAC.

I agree...this game has as much prestige as a MAC bowl game is going to have. It's been around for 15+ years as different incarnations, but Mobile has been a wonderful host to this and it's always well supported by the schools participating as well as the citizens. If the game was still in January, I'd consider making the trip.
