Sigalet in Sports Illustrated

Post by YoeyCC »

I heard Jordan Sigalet, our Hobey Baker winner of a golaie, is going to be in this weeks Sports Illustrated. I hope the article is more about how hard he works and how good he is rather than about the MS. Yes, we know he has Multiple Sclerosis, but he's also a great goalie. We wouldn't have half the wins we have this year without him. I encourage all BGSU sports fans to come out and watch him and the rest of the hockey team beat Western Michigans ass on Friday and Saturday. Both home games so there is no traveling and since theres no NHL, this is the best played hockey you'll see all year. So I hope to see everyone at the Ice Arena Friday and Saturday. GO BGSU!

And we have how many national championships in each?

I for one like to hear the occasional hockey thing on here, especially something I would miss it by not looking at another board. If you don't like it, ignore it...I don't think I like or get the heavy sarcasm. Is it really that much of an inconvenience? It didn't say "Falcons beat Ohio State" in the title.

That's why there's a Hockey forum.

I get that - It just seems like we get a wee bit pissy if anything even seems off-topic around here. Can we give the same message without being rude? As I said - I know there is a hockey forum, but I don't mind this message here. It doesn't mean I am right, but it does mean that not everyone minds. If it is that much of a problem, maybe we should msg grant and have the offending message removed.

This is already waaay to big of a deal. I won't say anything else. I just don't like boards being moderated by non-moderators.

I don't think the issue was as much posting hockey in a football forum, as that he posted it in EVERY forum. I don't mind the occasional "hey, check out the other forum", because I know that *I* don't check every one of the forums, just the "big 3" and the "general" forums toward the bottom. And while it's not time consuming to ignore topics you don't want to read, it's also unnecessary, and possibly a bit rude, to copy and paste the same thing in multiple forums, IMO.

I would just about guarantee that while some people read the women's sports forum and not the football forum, or some read the men's hoops, but not the band forum, that if you want to post a "Lookie what I wrote!" note, EVERYONE skims through the Free For All.

Thanks for the information Yoey. My pov is that for the greater good of Falcondom any national coverage for BG should be fair game in any forum. I check the hockey site maybe once a week and might have missed it. So thanks again.

Forums like this are a community. Communities have rules...wear pants when out in public, cover your mouth when you cough, clean up after your dog when you walk him and don't spam every forum with the same post.

We have to have rules...if not we're just Toledo with cleaner streets.

He's new look at his post numbers. I bet he thinks he is the first to know it and is trying to let everyone else know about Jordan. I agree that all three of his posts have been about something that has already been talked about, but cut him a little slack. And Yoey, this place has been around for a while, so don't assume that your info hasn't been posted here already... cause i'd bet the person you heard it from got it from this site.

You know, I can't blame this guy for posting this in the football forum. Unfortunately, hockey is without a doubt the least popular sport of the "Big 3" here at BGSU, but it does so much for our university. This forum is the most frequented forum on this site, and when something this big happens (getting one of our players an article in SI is HUGE no matter the sport), everyone deserves the opportunity to know about it. Heck, I've posted about hockey and Jordan over here when I thought it necessary, although it seems no one gives a damn.

I really think you guys need to get off of your high horses here. This guy isn't posting about OSU sports or anything, so what is the big damn deal? I really do love this site, but sometimes you guys take yourselves WAY too seriously. If Grant had chimed in on this and told him to stop, I probably wouldn't have said anything, but he hasn't and this isn't anyone's site but his. He's the one that determines the rules.

And while we're at it, go to www.hobeybaker.com and sign up for fan voting with every E-mail address you have. Vote for Jordan because he deserves the award. If everyone that crossed this board voted daily and didn't use stupid excuses about hockey being "run by Canadians," and took the 30 seconds it takes to vote, Jordan wouldn't be getting blown away in the fan voting by a guy from NORTHERN MICHIGAN. I don't mean to be so in-your-face about this, but everyone over here makes such a big deal about how well Omar represents this university. I guarantee you that if you looked into it, Jordan Sigalet does a BETTER job of representing this University -- both athletically and as a person. He really does deserve everyone's support, and he deserves it in every damn forum on this site.

Rant over. GO FRIGGIN' VOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
