BG up 2-0 after 2 periods.
Re: @Bemidji
BG Is on a 9 game win/tie streak. Now we don't play for 18 days. Ugh!!! Hope the layoff doesn't affect us too much. Looking at our schedule we could win our next 5 games. Our Pairwise is now 16. As mentioned, hopefully the layoff doesn't affect us too much. Need to beat WMU at Huntington Center and then SWEEP Clarkson and Lake Superior
Re: @Bemidji
Chris Nell may shatter the shutout record both in a season and career....some of these teams need to make sure their players are using the correct handed sticks. 10 WCHA Games this weekend and 39 goals. 3.9 per game. 1.95 goals game per team....On top of that, Nell had the only shutout.
Re: @Bemidji
And the NHL last night scored 47 goals in ten games, less than one goal per game more. That total includes three overtime goals and two rare 5-4 games featuring backup goalie "duels". Across college hockey it was higher but there were a lot of blowouts (6-0, 8-3, 7-3...) this weekend which are usually only fun to watch if you're a fan of the team doing the blowing out.apollo wrote:Chris Nell may shatter the shutout record both in a season and career....some of these teams need to make sure their players are using the correct handed sticks. 10 WCHA Games this weekend and 39 goals. 3.9 per game. 1.95 goals game per team....On top of that, Nell had the only shutout.

Couldn't happen at a better time. We have a couple of players that are injured and didn't make the trip (Tate and Delgadillo) and others that are playing hurt and need to finish healing. Most other teams are going on Christmas break also. I think we'll be fine and come out stronger after the break.gmartin wrote:BG Is on a 9 game win/tie streak. Now we don't play for 18 days. Ugh!!! Re: @Bemidji
scoring is down this year, but it's not just because the league is filled with guys who can only take dickhead shots.apollo wrote:There just aren't many guys that can hurt you in this league...
most of our top scorers from last year are still here this season, but they're not scoring at the same rate. Did the same guys suddenly lose their skills? Or were Berkle and DeSalvo really that good?
BG's 2014-2015 scoring, first 19 games: 62 goals
BG's 2015-2016 scoring, first 19 games: 47 goals
Shooting is down this year too.
2014-15 (season): BG Shots, 30.9; Opponent Shots, 28.1
2015-16 (to date): BG Shots, 28.2; Opponent Shots, 26.8
not sure what's going on, but officiating and defenses are part of it.

Two more goals puts us in a tie for 29th (dead middle of the pack). An average offence and stellar defence (Thanks, Chris Nell!) will win most games, albeit nail biters all year long.

You mean the two against NMU that were magically "disallowed" for goaltender interference?rood wrote:Two more goals puts us in a tie for 29th (dead middle of the pack). An average offence and stellar defence (Thanks, Chris Nell!) will win most games, albeit nail biters all year long.

Re: @Bemidji
I really don't think it's the officiating....Obviously we are a solid team. When Nell is in goal we're above avg. Our schedule is just so weak I really don't think we've played more than 4 maybe 5 games against even decent competition.
The second half schedule isn't very difficult either, but I think there are enough decent games that we could earn an at large with a good second half. Same thing though, we can't lose many. We probably won't have a game against a top 15 team in the RPI this whole season.
