Not sold on Webb?

We've got a sort of odd QB situation next year (presuming the Matt Johnson 6th year speculation has been put to rest) with a redshirt senior QB who started the last 13 games last year, beat Indiana, won a division title and a bowl game, but doesn't always seem to inspire confidence around these parts with some of his throws. He's been the backup the other two years he's been eligible, both ended with conference championships.

The heir apparent is a true freshman this year, James Morgan. Here's a couple posts from his recruiting: http://www.ay-ziggy-zoomba.com/phpBB3/v ... 50#p376750" target="_blank

Not sure why a grad student would come to a school if he didn't think he'd be the starter for his "extra" year, but if it adds to competition in the spring and summer, I'll take it.

We are a landing spot for disaffected Texas Tech QB's.

Maybe Webb asked Jinks if he could transfer, and Jinks told him sure, that he would give Webb a fair shot.

I'm not sure I would read too much more into this. Jinks can't possibly know at this point what he has with Morgan and Knapke. He hasn't seen a single practice, I assume.

I tend to think Morgan is still the early favorite to start next year, but I haven't seen a single practice, either. I'm just speculating, based on what we say from Knapke in 2013 and how highly touted Morgan was.

All year, Babers has said very nice things about how hard Knapke has worked in practice. Maybe it will be a real competition this spring.

We need more than 2 QB's that can play no matter how the competition shakes out. Even if Cunningham signs here in Feb, I don't want to go into the season with on experienced QB on the roster. Next year, we may have to sign 2....

I love that they are getting news form Twitter accounts

Why would you not expect Webb to start? He will know the offense and his stats were solid at tech. This to me is the reason the graduate transfer rule is so cool.

We will have no shortage of talent. We will have two senior QBs who each have a season of starting experience. One knows the head coach and one knows all the receivers. And we have a redshirt freshman who may be the most talented of all and has a ridiculously high ceiling. This QB competition in the spring will be a good one.

I don't assume Big 12 backups can start in Bowling Green. Ask Robbie Rhodes about that.

Bingo.

And Babers said all summer the guy that improved the most over the spring and summer was Knapke. It's just Matty J was better. I'm confident in Kman.

But, it should be a hell of a qb battle with Webb and Morgan in the mix. Sucks to have such talent, no?

How much experience did Robbie Rhodes have? Youre illogically comparing apples and oranges.

He was the starting QB at Faulkner. He threw for over 3,100 yards, 30 TD's, 60% and averaged over 300 ypg passing.

I've seen Webb play and I've seen Knapke play. Webb is better.
