Ask CFN 2-18-05 edition

Post by niucob86 »

Greetings Falcons!

I know you can't call teams like Boise State, Bowling Green and Utah "surprises" like they were over that last couple years, but who do you see as teams to look out for that are off the radar right now? And what's the outlook for the aforementioned three teams in '05? – BF

A: Can Fresno State be a surprise team? This should be Pat Hill’s best Bulldog team yet. On a “mid-major” level, BYU should be in for a bounceback season while last year bowl winners Wyoming and Northern Illinois should be even stronger. The deep sleeper “mid-major” could be Tulane with a tremendous group of young skill players and an experienced defense. Boise State should be Boise State again, but the schedule isn’t fun with Georgia, Oregon State and Bowling Green early. The Falcons have a great team, but at Wisconsin and at Boise State could mean an 0-2 start. Utah will still be strong even if it will take a step back from last year’s monster.

NIUcob, welcome!

Diehard fans will want to flame CFN, but if we open with Boise State and Wisky, an 0-2 start is a stark possibility. We can win both games and should expect to win both games. But our road record speaks for itself and not only are these two tough teams, they are two teams particularly difficult to beat at home.

Right, I expect to win those and I expect we will win the MAC and I expect we will go to our 3rd bowl game in a row. Reallity, we could end the season and not have done any of those things. That's why you play the game on the field. Oh yeah, WE WILL WIN. :supz:

GO BG!!!
