Mike Jinks era begins. Hope the other coaches enjoy their flights back to western NY.

The fact we send our seniors off like this and have to sit on the performance for 8 months, it's a killer. We're MAC Champs but were taken behind the woodshed by the 3rd place Sun Belt team. Very disappointing way to end a good season.
Tough to feel real sorry for the seniors when they were a big reason we got blown out.

Team showed no heart at all in the second half and if the seniors really cared that should have had the guys ready to play and may it on the line.

It sucks but I'm far more interested in seeing how the team will look next year than I was in this game. If Dino was still here I might have felt differently, but it is what it is.

And when the entire coaching staff is more concerned with house shopping and recruiting for their new gig what do you expect.

I mean we had a coach actually tell a sideline reporter "what are they gonna do, fire me?"

Please...

Last two in Mobile, allow 63 to Tulsa and 58 to GSU. Ouch...

I don't think even having Babers and the coaching staff in-tact would have mattered. Let's face it: he doesn't give a whit about defense, and that's where it all fell apart in this game. As someone already noted, to play against an option team (or a read option team) you have to be able to play disciplined, position football. That is something this team has never shown us on defense.

It is my fondest hope that the new coaching staff will take playing defense seriously. Because if they don't, it's unlikely we're going to see another MAC title next season, despite returning some nice talent. You can also expect another loss to Toledo.

Yes the MAC is an offense-oriented league (as is the case in most of college football) but you HAVE to be able to play at least average defensively to give yourself a chance against equal or better teams. Without it, you get six losses in a row to your rival -- and blow outs in bowl games against teams that can control clock and run the ball.

All the complaining about playing an 'inferior' opponent is laughable now. How embarrassing.

This staff started with a molly whopping fro WKU and slunk out of town after a another ass kicking from GSU. I hope the next staff will instill the mental toughness needed to deal with adversity.

What a terrible last memory we'll have of some great BG Falcons. Johnson, Greene, Huettel, Hunter, Burbrink, Turner, Royster, Tate, Colvin and Baird. Thanks boys! Roll along!

Effin eh....don't know if I can add anything to the discussion. Very poor performance in the 2nd half. Hard to believe the season is over...

MAC Champion is great but this taste won't go away anytime soon.

I cannot wait to see what Coach Jinks can do with our program...please tell me he knows a very good D coordinator. lol

BG actually led this game by double figures if you can believe that. May we never, ever hear talk about another team not being able to stop us. Not only did they shut us out the entire second half, they outscored us 35-0 in the process. We could have spent two months trying to prepare for that offense and if wouldn't have mattered. We had no shot at all as the game wore on.

Because they play better defensive teams. We are making this team look like the Georgia Bulldogs.
Georgia Southern took Georgia to overtime this season.

Tonight was a perfect example of a lack of preparation....we had confidence early, but Georgia Southern exposed our defense and then we handed them the ball multiple times. You could just tell BG thought they were going to put up 70 points, and didn't think GSU could keep up. Boy were they wrong. I was disappointed with the overall effort, as soon as things didn't go our way, the team packed it in. A MAC Championship is a great accomplishment, but I wonder if we would have faced a healthy MAC West team if we'd have won.
It's such a strange dynamic with the MAC West having 3 of the top 4 teams in the conference and arguably 4 of the top 5. The last 3 years BG really hasn't had to grind it out back to back or 3 weeks in a row (in MAC play). I don't really see the strength of the conference shifting next year, so the East will probably be BG's again.
