I'm thinking 5th round..... if he measures in at a legit 6-2 and runs a sub 4.5 40....he'd likely move up. My biggest fear is that he's 6-0 and runs a 4.5+...then he's not a big WR like Treadwell or a quick slot like Cooper. Then he's just another guy....

I think he has a decent shot at getting drafted. But getting drafted and making a team are two very different things. I hope for his sake he makes it because it would be a huge shame to see a guy with not one - but two years of eligibility remaining - leave early and not make it. If you're leaving early, especially two years early in his case, you better know for sure something some of us don't. Because you don't leave that early to play in the NFL if that's what you are declaring and pursuing. But it happens year after year. Does anyone know if Lewis is the only sophomore to declare?

There are very few WRs and players overall who get drafted and don't make the team in some capacity.

See Browns, Cleveland 2015 draft: Mayle, Vince.

I knew that was why people were saying that. Most teams are a bit better at drafting.

And Vince Mayle is on the Cowboys and made 25K plus whatever signing bonus he got this year and is set to make 450K next year and 540K the next.

I wouldn't say he's set to make either of those numbers, as those are what he would make if he actually makes the active roster next year which he couldn't do this year. I do think the 25K is wrong though...I think practice squadders make more than that now. Closer to $100k I think. I think a more likely scenario for Mayle is that he doesn't make the cut next year and then is no longer practice squad eligible and is done with the league by 2018; that certainly seems like the most likely scenario to me, but who knows.

Interestingly Mayle is a pretty decent comp for Lewis, to be honest. Insane production in a wide open system, but not a light's out athlete/polished player. In Mayle's case his hands were awful, and when he was in Cleveland he showed no heart or desire to actually go after a football. I don't think Roger's hands are nearly as bad as Mayle's and I think Roger will give it a lot more effort. Of course he's not nearly as big as Mayle and coming from the MAC will likely not get drafted as highly.

I think he'll go between the 4th-6th rounds. I think he'll be in a place that he'll have to work his ass off to make the roster and hope like hell he ends up in a decent situation. He'd have to work his ass off regardless, so I guess that's a wash, but I don't expect him to play much as a rook. He's counting on getting drafted and showing enough to hang on for a developmental year roster spot. Or I could see him as a practice squadder next year depending on where he lands.

I think the kid can play at the next level, and I hope like hell he didn't leave too early. I'd gladly take him on the Browns as he has a helluva lot more ability/upside than most anybody on their roster.

They changed practice squad eligibility requirements. He will be eligible for a very long time.

The 25K is because he was on the active roster and bounced around a bit.

I also think Vince Mayle sucks though so I dont doubt you could be correct.

He was horrible in Cleveland's training camp/preseason. I'm not sure I've ever seen anything like it. Dude came in as a 4th rounder and played like he expected to just trot out there and make his salary. I don't know that I've ever seen a rookie fighting for a roster spot give such poor effort on balls or anything. Maybe he is working harder in Dallas after being cut, but what I saw from him last summer left a real bad taste in my mouth on him.

Lewis, if he has 1/10 the heart I think he does, will be nowhere near Vince Mayle in future discussions. As a draft prospect though they're not terribly dissimilar.

I see Toledo's Kareem Hunt announced that he is also coming back for his senior year. If there's one guy from the MAC I was hoping would leave early, it was him. So it looks like Lewis and Braverman are the only two guys from the MAC to declare as Corey Davis is also coming back. I'm still scratching my head over both of those decisions to jump ship, but it's water under the bridge now. However, I've been reading a lot of early entry articles and a lot of them included their projected draft grade. It made me wonder where Lewis graded out to decided to leave early with two years left. I would imagine most guys in that situation would have to of been told something really good, maybe no lower than rounds 3-5 to leave two years on the table.

Hunt should have left...I don't see him doing himself much good with another year in college. He's got a lot of wear on the treads...another year in college could turn a concern into a big red flag

If the advisory board told him he was going int hat range he would have been a fool to return to school. I didn't think he'd go that high (and still may not), but if that's where he lands then he absolutely made the right call.
