Saw a bit of the third qtr online. Had a chance to make a little run when the lead was around 15 by making several defensive stops in a row, but they couldn't buy a bucket. The team still has a bit of a "pieces-parts" feel to it ...a noticeable lack of that one player that can step up when they have to score.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Serious question: Is the Roos Era going to end soon? It just appears to me (and granted, I don't get a chance to see many games) that the talent level overall has been in steady decline since she became coach. Last year, injuries decimated the roster so it was difficult to accurately judge the coaching, which includes player development, and talent acquisition.

This year, BG is consistently losing games, some by large margins.

That is not BG women's basketball.

So did BG make a mistake by hiring from within for a program that has had such stellar success for so long? Perhaps the job warranted a wider search for someone with actual head coaching experience.

I write this not to troll or create controversy: I'm asking an honest question for those who see the games regularly and can compare the coaching and recruiting more accurately. Right now, the women's program seems to be heading in the wrong direction.

What's the fix?

They can't shoot...at all. When your offense is built around ball screens and jump shots, consistently missing more than 2/3 of those shots will kill you.

I've been a season ticket holder since the early '90's and lately I'm getting really tired of " waiting until next year " and then "next year" being worse!!! Right now I see us at the bottom again - right under Akron. I wish I could say otherwise and I genuinely hope that I'm completely wrong!!!!

Well, that's an indictment of the coaching all around. Either they aren't recruiting the talent for the system, or they aren't adjusting the system to get the best out of the talent. In either case, it's bad coaching, which can include bad player evaluation/recruiting.

I sure hope they figure this out soon. I got used to all those great seasons, and long for more of them.
