BG at WMU

Post by BGSU33 »

BG is back on the road with a pair of road games this week, which might not be a bad thing considering the Falcons have lost three consecutive home games at the Stroh Center. This is a very important game for multiple reasons. BG is sitting on back-to-back losses and hasn't lost three consecutive games all season. This road swing also finishes up with CMU on Saturday, a team that shot the lights out from three in the second half buried BG at the Stroh a couple weeks ago. WMU is tied for last in the MAC West and this is a game BG really needs to find a way to win. BG is on a four-game win streak vs WMU (having won the last two in Kalamazoo) which comes off the heels of a dreadful 1-13 funk against WMU. IMO, this very well could be ones of those games that we look back at in a month that either helped us secure first round home game or possibly even a bye in the MAC Tournament, or put us on the road to open tournament play instead. Gotta find a way in this one Falcons.

Denny needs to find his game. After 16 points in he 1st half against Toledo he was 0-5 in the 2nd half and made 3 FTs. He was held scoreless against Kent and another bad night tonight.

In his last 80 plus minutes he has scored 5 points and going 1-13 from the field.

BG down 5. Tisdale has picked up the slack and scored 9 points.

That was the best half of hoops jd has played in a falcon uniform. Good thing too because our normal scorers were all on the bench with foul issues.

Rough first half on defense. Wouldn't be shocked to see some zone in the second. Their centers really worked our guys over and they did a great job getting us to rotate so Parker and alcegaire were matched up on them down low. Need to get that corrected. Need Wiggins and worrell defending down there.

Difference so far has been WMU at the line. More makes and more attempts. BG has also missed a bunch of bunnies and wide-open looks.

Yeah he's stone cold. A couple more airballs tonight. He's even bricking free throws now too. I said it before, he's one of the "worst, good" shooters I've seen at BG. No, that's not a typo, and it makes sense and is fitting.

This team will live and die on the shooting of Zach Denny. We are quite good at attacking the basket but we need a floor spacer that can hit shots when we kick it out.

He's been off again tonight and its killing us. It would be a different story if we had any body else that was an actual threat but we just don't.

We need Zach Denny the 3 point shooter back. His other contributions are nice but the shooting is what we need and have been missing the past 5 halves...

This one's shaping up to be another close one. Can we finally find a way to finish or are we gonna fold like we did vs UT and KSU???

Just realized Fox is only a Sophomore. I wonder if he gets put on scholarship. We have 2 for 2016-2017

Huge win. Again playing well on the road. Good stuff.

Major props to huger to put fox in too. He may be a limited player but he has shown in his little time that he can hit the open deep ball and that's exactly what this team needed.

Great finish and win.
