The band has been fighting this battle for a decade. The best thing any of you can to to help is to write to Chris Kingston. If he hears feedback that that fans want to listen to the band rather than the PA, he might do something. So, in addition to discussing it here, reach out and let Athletics know how you feel!

I'll take them over &#!^$ Neil Diamond any day of the week. "Touching Me, Touching You..." Every. Single. Game. <Gag>
Whoever programs the canned music needs to drink some imagination juice--is there some rule that they have to copy the play list of every other arena in the nation?

The Tech band has enthusiasm, I'll give them that. But stripy pants and more drums makes them louder, not necessarily better.
The Tech band is a hot mess. There, I said it. Michigan has a great hockey band, although they aren't in our conference anymore. Actually, there is no canned music at Yost; like the Big House, there is no canned music (or advertising) during games.

In every survey to which I've responded I've said, "Bring back the organ!"

I'd love to see the organ back as long as they never play "Lady of Spain"

I also noticed it was much better...... However the dude who comes out with the mic for t-shirts and what not is really REALLY annoying. In fact, I find his schtick to be more irritating than the music issue

For the first two periods of the weekend. Seemed like the third period Friday night the dj and the band were fighting each other for playing time. Last night was back to the same old "turn the PA up to drown out the band."
