This team is sinking fast. That 3-1 start is beginning to look like fools gold. BG has gone 1-4 since while also losing 4 straight home games. ](*,)

BG now would be the #9 seed for the MAC Tournament. Which means play on the road. Since we can't win at home maybe that's for the best.

That's not a "tough conference" loss.... that's a "we suck" loss.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

BG had ZERO field goals in the final 13 minutes of the game! Not one single made shot from the floor! BG was 4-22 and blanked in the final 13 minutes. By Ball State. At home. Pathetic!

Maybe the team filled up on the $1 Hot Dogs at halftime.

And how. Just a freaking terrible pathetic awful performance in that 2nd half. That BSU team is no good, and we flat out gave them the game.

Denny hit some huge 3s but then down the stretch was just chucking and ducking. Parker was forcing things that weren't there all 2nd half. Gomez comes in and in his first minute in god knows how long lets a rebound go through his arms then through his legs to his man for an easy deuce...then gives up 2 more easy layups (one was a 3 point opportunity). Neither PG could create anything for themselves or their teammates for the last 15 minutes at least.

Just a terrible performance all around; offensively especially, in that 2nd half.

Blah...

We have NO BIGS to counter when teams can throw out a 6'10 or above kid on the floor. Think they said #52 was ave. about TWO ppg... Had at least 8 tonite. We looked like freak and me trying to defend him.

I used to think 6'7- 6'8 was big.... Not so much any more.
Need to sign a couple of bigs instead of more guards in future.

I'm not sure if Huger was outcoached, or we just made poor shot selections. Parker, our senior, 2-12 5 TO's, kept trying to score from the paint. Denny started just tossing the ball up for 3's, and WTF, our point guards tried to drive into the lane then couldn't dish the ball out to someone because no one was there. 4-22 indeed. The refs sucked the life out of the game, but we didn't show much courage.

So now the season is 1/2 over and we're 4-5 and get to play Akron twice....

I guess 20 wins is not a very good chance, but it's mathematically possible with a 7-2 finish. Makes the Miami game, one Akron game, the NIU game and a couple of others MUST win games.

I'm thinking our bigs for the next couple years are likely set at Wiggins & Worrell. They look overmatched against good bigs right now, but remember ones a true frosh (who put on a lot of weight since HS already) and the other is a RS Frosh. They'll get better, and they both are long and athletic.

Our big man situation is a microcosm of our overall situation. We have 4 big men on scholarship that were brought in by 3 different coaches. The 2 that were brought in by Orr cannot even give you a couple minutes here and there without costing you. When Worrell was in foul trouble and they brought Gomez in he single handedly gave up 6 points in almost no time at all. He cannot play. Mayleben is tall, but has never shown much in the paint...his promise (if there actually is any) is as an outside threat big man...he cannot defend the post either.

Gomez is gone after this year but I think Mayleben still has 2 years remaining. I hope that we're gonna find another big that can actually give us 3 in our rotation.

Overall though I'm not convinced Huger wants a traditional big. I think he may prefer the new age version of hoops where you give up some size to be athletic, run the floor, and have shooters that can hit the 3s. We cannot play that style of basketball right now because we don't have more than 1 or 2 actual shooters to stretch the floor.

Most amazing of all that was the last Orr season, was that he was still redshirting a player, while dressing 8 scholarship players in certain games. The program is still paying for that last season in wasted scholarships.
