3 Weeks Left
Two ties in Huntsville by Mankato leaves BG and Tech 4 points out of first (one point ahead at 4th), with 2 games (each) in hand. Trip to Fairbanks, Ferris at home, trip to Huntsville. Tech has at Bemidji, Fairbanks at home, home and home with Northern. BG wins out and at minimum shares the title with Tech. Keep doing what they've been doing and they'll be lucky to keep home ice.

I was just going to post the same thing. Ferris is only 1 point behind us but we have 2 games in hand. It's a long trip to Alaska but we need a sweep and get all 4 points. A sweep at Alaska would tie us for 1st place and should get us a top 3 seed. Can't see BG blowing a 5 pt lead in the standings over 4 games. A sweep in Alaska and a split at home against Ferris would wrap up no worse than #3 seed.

Be before we throw the baby out with the bathwater or sound the horn.
ALL GOALS THAT AS FANS ARE STILL OBTAINABLE.
1) Home ice in the first-round - Obtained
2) Win the Conference - Can still be done - Control own destiny
3) Win the Conference Tournament - Can still be done
4) Get to the NCAA Tournament - Can still be done (must win conference tourney)
Only real thing that is no longer obtainable is getting an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament.
Must I remind many of you of Providence last year. Squeaked into the tournament and got super hot at the end of the season and turned that into a national title. Rolled that over into a Top 5 team all season this year.
Been up and down all year. But everything we still want is still there, just need to string a month of good hockey together. Can it be done YES, will it be easy NO. Do skeptics have reason to doubt Absolutely. Have they given us the dreaded word we as fans cling to, which is HOPE, and YES to that as well. As a fan of the Brown and Orange, as long as there is Hope I'm going to be cheering for that. Fan is short for fanatical
No an ideal season coming off last year, but a lot to still be written and should be exciting.
Go out and Win a league Title................Roll along.

There was a comment in another thread about fair-weather fans. I'm not one--I figure nobody on this board is--but I have higher expectations than I used to have. After last season's performance, I expected more this season. Sure, we lost some scoring, but not many goals: 14 goals and 67 points. No team in the league is scoring much, either.
Win the tournament! I've been reading Cavallini from Kane, and I was struck by our 82-83 and 83-84 teams' winning the regular season title but flaming-out in the tournament. We haven't won a title, but we have lost in semi's how many times now?

I expected better this season than what we've seen but it is true about the goals still attainable. It's just been very frustrating seeing this team not play with passion on a nightly basis.
Hope they catch fire...

Couldn't agree more. I've stuck by this team through a helluva lot worse that what we've seen this year. Looking forward to seeing what this team does in the last 3 weeks of the regular season.BG84 wrote:There was a comment in another thread about fair-weather fans. GO FALCONS!!
SWEEP THE NANOOKS!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

With a Tech loss tonight, BG now controls their own destiny in the league (should own the tie-breaker vs Mankato). Just need to win.

Re: 3 Weeks Left
Leave it to this team to give up on the final seconds of tonight's game and piss away this opportunity. Mankato now controls its destiny in the league. Tech controls theirs with the exception of 1st place (currently holds the tiebreaker over a tie with BG). At this rate home ice may be in jeopardy.pdt1081 wrote:With a Tech loss tonight, BG now controls their own destiny in the league (should own the tie-breaker vs Mankato). Just need to win.
