Softball in Georgia...
Beat Rutgers yesterday, 6-1, but lost to Kennesaw State, 5-1. Playing Morehead St today and Bradley tomorrow in the Rafter Memorial. Morehead St beat us in Cleveland last weekend. Win both and we even our record 4-4.

Early season play can certainly change either direction as MAC teams come in, but I am impressed with our ability to put bat on ball and score runs. Fits with the aggressive style. Attacking on that side.
Obviously, championship teams in this sport are built on pitching and defense first. And our new head coach has an incredible track record in that area. This will be a good transition year/point for BG softball and we may surprise. It will be a process.
But I do see a definite upward trajectory. I really really like this staff.

So true. Last year we had decent pitching, some major errors in the field and would get down by four or five runs. Nice to see that we're doing both offensively and defensively.falconfan1 wrote:... but I am impressed with our ability to put bat on ball and score runs.

Looking forward to March 23 and IPFW at Meserve Field. As Ernie Banks would say, "What a beautiful day! Let's play two!"

ff1,
I really like the staff as well. We should be a solid team under their leadership.

Hear a lot of positive things said about staff and future of BG Softball. Really great to see Shook playing so well. Named MAC Player of the Week after hitting .455 with 2 HRs. They have a difficult weekend ahead playing ranked South Alabama and Ivy League Champ Dartmouth.
Like mentioned before softballs won in the circle. Seems like we have a couple good freshman Sosby/Parker. Line up should win us some games as we take bumps in the circle as freshman figure it out.
