STOP STANDING ON THE BLEACHERS!

Me and my friend got to the ice arena 25 minutes before the game. Got some decent seats, about 10 rows back middle of "H." Behind us were some guys who thought it would be funny to say Anchorman quotes the whole game, start A-Hole chants, B-S chants, and otherwise be really annoying.

Now, after the 1st period some guy and I guess his sister sit to the left of me, take the guys seat who was there, and go on to stand on the bleachers for the 2nd and 3rd period. I said a lot of times out loud "I can't see anything on the south end." This just got dirty looks.

I'm happy we had a good crowd tonight, but people need to be more respectful of those sitting around them. Otherwise, a good crowd, but I wish the announcer would have said something about it being Siggy's b-day.

Was the guy standing on the bleachers a major d-bag wearing a Notre Dame hat with about 19 earings in his ears? If so, that guy was standing next to me and I was about to smack him for most of the second period. I agree that people need to be a lot more respectful of those around them.

Also, I spent most of the night yelling at that group of people for starting the a** hole chant. I imagine they were the same ones doing it at the b-ball game today, too. I kept telling them that there were little kids around and they kept telling me that their parents shouldn't have brought them. I then asked them where we would get money for our hockey program and they said "from our tuition!" Retarded.

Oh yeah, and they were all RA's, too. :(
I'm dead serious.

Now now, not all RA's are great role models. I've got one thats a real prick. Still, its a pretty poor example to set for your residents, and other students. Bunch of morons.

I was in the front row of H for Saturday's game with my wife and two boys. Right next to the little ramp at the end of the aisle. Freddie's family and friends were behind us. We had a great time. It was our annual trek to BG for Hockey..... and DiBenneto subs :D

We got a poster signed by the Football team. We bid on one the MS silent auction photos (lost). Purchased a couple of "Hope" bands. Nicholas is pumped about wearing it to school as a counter to the Lance Armstrong bands (which he wears) and telling his teachers what it stands for. - Finding a cure or relief to MS. (Side note - I lost my cousin last summer to MS -his youngest daughter has it - so we have some understanding of MS)

I did not hear the A-hole chant, but I appreciate your efforts. The "RAs" are wrong, you are right. All BG sporting events are family events.

My youngest son (now 11) has been attending BG hockey games with us since he was about 2 1/2 - 3 years old. We use to have to leave at the end of the second period - bed time. But he loved and still loves going to the game.

We were at the Lefty McFadden tournament two years ago - watched Scott Palich coach his first two BG games. Nicholas was wearing his BG jersey. I held him above the glass to get a "High 5" from the team after the Friday win against Niagra. Tyler McMaster's saw Nick - his eyes lit up and he skated over and gave Nick is sitck. Nick slept with it for several nights.

Let me assure you - College and BG Hocky is a family event.

The Freaks had an awesome time...even better with a Sweep!!!

GREAT crowd Saturday night! Great to see everyone as usual.

One point away from 4th place. This program is on the verge of exploding.

4 huge games left....against the hated rivals up north.

Posters signed by the GMAC Bowl Champs was the icing on a great day (other than the women losing to EMU :( ).

Congrats Coach Paluch and team for a successful season so far and the sky's the limit! THIS IS TOO EXCITING!! GO ICERS!

Congrats to Jordan Sigalet for being named Player of the Week from the CCHA office. You are truly an inspiration to all.

BEAT THE SPARTANS!!!!! GO HOCKEY!

Freak-
You should have stuck around under the scoreboard, and I would have introduced the boys to Coach Schmitz, as he came up a little later. Coach Brandon was also sitting just down the way with some of the other FB coaches.

Factman,

Damn! We spoke with Coach Brandon and sat a few rows from him there in the end section. The Freaklings were too busy signing autographs after the game at the football tables.

Would have loved to have the boys meet Coach Schmitz...when do you fly out bro? I told my dad to get his butt over to Bradenton and support the troops! He is at his condo in Largo...we'll be there at the end of March but BG won't be there! :x

That's a battle I think you'll never win. College students seem to have it in their mind that they have right to stand during hockey games (and football basketball etc...) and to some extent I agree. If you're going to sit in the student section, especially E, be prepared for that. The profanity and lewdness... no excuse for that.

Sure it might be reasonable to ask them to stand on the ground and not the bleachers but if you're asking them not to stand at all, then you are definitely fighting an uphill battle my friend.

It's really easy to keep people from standing on the bleachers in any of our athletic venues. All the department has to do is enforce the policy from the first game of the season. It was quite annoying thes football season when two home games went by allowing people to stand on the bleachers and then the third game rolls around and it's time to bring out the police at the game and bring the hammer down hard. Start these things from the beginning of the season and they will not be a problem at the end. It's not a matter of a battle that can't be won, it's a battle we have to know how to fight.

Why any 'adult' would choose to sit in the student section is beyond me.
Expecting the kids to sit through the game is unreasonable.
Leave 'em alone...let them have their fun...sit somewhere else.

Like section B where we're nice and quiet and never yell at the refs, the opposing coaches, the kids in the sin bin or anything, right Freddie!?
