Re: Chris Kingston Talks About Hiring Mike Jinks ...
Excellent!!! Exactly what we want in an athletic director.
Always prepared. Well spoken. Love the part towards the end of the interview when he talks about the hockey program as well. Thanks for sharing.

As a high school AD I was very impressed by the interview. Especially when he said his main job is to give his coaches the tools needed to be successful. We are lucky to have him.

I like how Kingston went after him middle of the season. He was on his radar for 2 months. Then Kingston was honest and told Jinks no search committee, no agent needed. Spoke with Texas Tech coach Kingsbury. Was honest from day one. Had his wife in on the interview. And discussed the roster. Kingston was well prepared and very professional. And like he said at the end of interview, we will a national championship in hockey within the next 5 years.

Very, very reassuring. I won't lie when I first had some disappointment when the Jinks hire was announced. I thought we should be able to hire a current HC, or at least a hot OC or DC. But I've liked Jinks more every time I've heard him speak. Now hearing what Kingston saw in him and the process, I truly am as sold as an alum can be at this point, when we're still months from kickoff.

REALLY, REALLY great interviews! The only thing that worries me is that this interview is from "a top industry search firm" designed to give D1 subscribers information on how they do their job... Nice to know that THEY invited him to interview, but still..... Can we just delete these interviews from the website now?BGSU SID wrote:Part two from Chris Kingston was posted today. "Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
