I'll keep callin ya crazy. And I would take that run any day. Gutsy win...gmartin wrote:Call me crazy but BG will beat Kent. BG will then go on and beat CMU. Will then end the losing streak to Akron and then face Ohio but will lose to the Bobcats in the MACC on a last second half court shot.

For a team that struggled to find something to build on for next year this is a good start. Coach Huger and staff deserved this one as well as the players.
Let's see if they can give themselves a chance to finish another one in Cleveland.

This ain't no fair. We shouldn't be tantalized like this. You watch, we'll win Thursday and all kinds of crazy will be going thru our heads.

To me this is a huge huge win. A win that offers a bit of redemption for the way the MAC season went, but more importantly a win that reinforces the first half of this season.
Going into the year a 15 win season and a trip to Cleveland was a fair goal, IMO. None of has really cared for the course this season has taken, but we're going to Cleveland. With a team that was picked/expected to finish LAST in the MAC (and did in the regular season). Another win would be a big thing to build on, IMO.
What is encouraging to me is that when we've been playing well in recent games, and really fueled us on that 11-0 run to start the 2nd half tonight, it's been Lillard stepping up and making plays. I see big things in his future.

IF we find a way to knock off the Chips, I'll be able to get to Friday's game. I work in Richfield and it would be a 15 min drive to downtown...and then Saturday.
Why not think crazy? This happens every year in college hoops. All the pressure is on CMU.

Just got home from the game. That game, particularly the second half, was probably as suspenseful as any this year. That might have been BG's best half of basketball all season. To come out of halftime with that kind of focus and to beat the same team that blasted them a week ago in the same arena was big. I'm not gonna lie, when Wiggins missed the bunny (can he not dunk???) and then Joseph missed the free throw, I thought BG was gonna blow it. That said, they still found a way to finally close out a close game and the fact this team has even advanced to Cleveland alone is a success story in itself. Up next is CMU who also swept BG this season. I don't see BG getting past them, but I didn't see BG getting past KSU either. In the mean time, we're still alive and these kids, especially the young guys, get to taste what it's like to play in The Q in the MAC Tournament. It's not the evening session which is usually better attended, but still. I'll enjoy the next few days with at least a glimmer of hope still alive, even if it's a very small one. But nice win tonight Falcons!

I said a long time ago that this team was going to ruin someone's March....of course I said a lot of mean stuff in between now and then, but let's focus on the positives!
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Well, BG still remains the only team to never win the MAC Tournament. At least we actually got to Cleveland this year and finally won a couple games though.
GO BG!!!
