BG with just 1 win in CLE in MAC Tourney in 15 years

I caught a little MAC Tournament talk on sports radio in Cleveland and heard BG getting trashed. One guy asked, "does Bowling Green even participate in the MAC Tournament at The Q?" It got me thinking, and I knew our record couldn't be very good, but it was worse than I even thought after I looked it up. Since winning a game at The Q in 2002 (I don't even think it was called The Q back then), BG has had just one measly win in Cleveland in the MAC Tournament since then, and it came in 2009. Just one win in a 15-year span. Many of those years BG never even got out of the first round to even get to Cleveland, and in most of the years that BG actually did earn a bye, it was bounced in its first game played.

To say BG is long overdue for some positive results in the later rounds of the tournament would be a huge understatement. The fact this year's team was able to even get to Cleveland is something to be proud about alone. But BG must start becoming a player and factor in the MAC Tournament again. I'm not saying this year, but I am saying from here on out. We all know we haven't been to the NCAA Tournament since 1968. And we all know BG is the only team to never have won the MAC Tournament. But 1968 will continue to hang over this program like a dark cloud until BG wins the MAC Tournament. It's the only way it's gonna happen. You can forget any at-large bid talks too, it's win the MAC Tournament or bust. Period. And while I give BG a 0% chance to win it this year, it sure would be great to at least see BG beat CMU, even if to just let people know the Falcons aren't absent at The Q. Good luck BG, let it all hang out.
