I agree. And to add to it, that point guard actually needs to be able to shoot. Ali can only make open layups and can't hit the broad side of a barn with a jumper.gmartin wrote:Get a point guard and a shooter.

I'm not sure I remember him ever attempting a jumper. I do think you need a pg that is a threat with the jumper though.BGSU33 wrote:I agree. Ali can do some nice things at times then make me shake my head. Definitely need a more consistent pg and one that is a threat to score as well.
And badly need some outside shooting. I'm hopeful that Lillard can improve his jumper, and alcegaire/Denny can provide some consistency from the outside as seniors.
We also BADLY need another big. Worrell and Wiggins are in our top 5 players and we couldn't play them together much this year because we had nobody else to fill in there.

Sorry guys. My dream must have been from 2009.
Oddly relieved. Wouldn't be able to handle going to the Q and watching us lose in the MAC Championship. AND....after year 50 years, this year's team is sure as hell NOT the BG team I want to finally make the dance.

Re: MAC Semifinal: BG vs Akron
He threw up (accurate description) a few jumpers again tonight and at least hit the rim. I think. His outside shot is terrible. He also nearly air-balled two free throws. He also tried a couple mid-range runners the last few games where he kicks out his legs in mid-air and fires an off-balance shot that was a brick. When we swing the ball and hit him open on the perimeter the offense competing bogs down on the possession because he's no threat to score from the outside and the defense recovers. It drives me nuts. Same thing with Tisdale. I also dislike how Ali dribbles half hunched over all the time. He looks like an 80-year-old-man running the floor. I admit he's decent at driving and kicking the ball, but if he doesn't kick it, he often eats the shot or throws up a wild shot with no chance at going in. He is not the answer at PG at all. If he's our starter next year, we're gonna have major challenges.hammb wrote:I'm not sure I remember him ever attempting a jumper.
