according to the Miami State schedule, we're playing two games down there on Oct. 28-29, with no return visit from them next season.

I prefer the home and home series but I guess this will have to do.

I don't know what's going on in Oxford that weekend, but the hotels are either sold out or their rates are doubled.

The schedules thread on the USCHO board shows us playing a home and home with O$U, and a home game with RIT, all three of those games with unknown dates. Interestingly, it doesn't show a home game against Canisius. Was a game in BG part of the deal when we played in Buffalo last year?

Probably but the return games aren't always held the following year.

We're playing Canisius 2017-2018 in BG.

still wondering how the team spending the night in oxford works better than a home-and-home. but at least the series continues.

Home-and-homes are certainly cheaper but are tough routine-wise. If you can't find a hotel to give you a day-rate for 30 people you don't get to go in early and get a skate the morning of the game. Playing two at least keeps the players in the routine they're used to.

I bet it had a little more to do with travel...a home and home is still 3 or 3.5 hours one way for both teams. Makes more sense to do the trip once for two games. Both the programs travel too much as it is. Easier on both teams to eliminate a trip at least one year.

We're currently scheduled for a home and home with Western. Broncos at BG Friday, 10/14; Falcons at Zoo on Saturday, 10/15 - same day football is at Toledo. Brilliant!

Not a terrible move. It could be a nice weekend for fans to come up for hockey on Friday and stay for football at UT on Saturday. There'll be less of us traveling to Kzoo on Saturday and buying tickets to support Boat Rowing Athletics... which I'm ok with. I'm going to wait until we schedule half of our home games over Fall/Thanksgiving/Winter/Spring Break before I start complaining. ](*,)
