3 of the 4 last series at home. If we can get off to a good start on the road and if we protect home ice I can see BG winning the league with this conference schedule. OOC schedule decent. No Robert Morris. RIT instead. Home and home with Broncos and Buckeyes. If we can get a split with both games at Miami. Overall not bad.

Travel-wise this is probably the best schedule we've had in the WCHA era. The second half sets up very well.

For those who want to subscribe to the games calendar on their devices we have links for that on our site: http://www.bgsuhockey.com/2016/05/falco ... -released/" target="_blank

If you're going to play a weak conference schedule, then you shouldn't be scheduling Mercyhurst in non-conference play.

Because there are so many teams that have conference play off the second weekend of February. Betting there aren't that many better options.

That's fine...just don't complain when our SOS is in the high 30s low 40s and our only chance to make the NCAA tournament is to win the WCHA tourney.

For the sake of comparison here's Mankato's schedule:

http://www.msumavericks.com/news/2016/5 ... unced.aspx

A few things stand out to me. Their travel sucks: two trips to Alaska, UAH on the road and a 2400 mile round trip to Princeton. It's nice to see that Minnesota at least isn't trying to extort 2-for-1 agreements like Michigan and Michigan State. And finally, this is the non-conf schedule you can get when you have the reputation of being a team that can help your RPI to play against. I would not be surprised to see the Mercyhursts of the NCAA disappear from our schedule in the next couple years.

Also, wasn't this the year we were supposed to play at the GLI, or is that next year?

Mercyhurst and RIT are the end of 1 for 1 deals. The way I see it, if we won't play Atlantic teams on an equal basis, we are no better than scUM and the Egg Suckers. Every team needs opponents to fill their schedule. We should not feel we are above playing any other team.

Last season we had 6 of the first 14 at home, but only one home game in October, on the 10th. That was a long month.

The RIT game is another head scratcher....can we not find a decent non-conference opponent to play at the Huntington Center? Nothing against Wilson and Hills, but RIT doesn't attract any fans. If we can't get anyone better, than stop scheduling games at the Huntington Center.
