New ad and still no clue? Blah...they do everything in their power to keep fans away.

So glad we put in lights so we can have one or two stupid midweek games anand never actually play an evening game on a Saturday.

To the extent our games are locked into ESPN3, I assume BGSU (and no one else) decides when to kickoff. It would appear they believe afternoon games suit our fans best.

Personally, I like day games. This isn't Louisiana. The weather in Bowling Green lends itself to day games.

The new AD doesn't start until mid-July. I doubt he had any say in the schedule, let alone the start times.

Good to know...maybe there's still hope.

I'm sick and tired of year after year not even throwing us a bone of at least 1 evening Saturday start time.

Our schedule blows. It blows every year. Every year they make it a chore to actually attend games and make an event out of it. Gone are the days of tailgating all day long for a 6 PM Saturday game, at least once. I get it for kid's weekend or homecoming or whatever, but the freaking home openers against podunk states we cannot even play in the evening? Near as I can tell we have not played a single Saturday evening game since the Idaho home opener in 2012! The latest Saturday kick in that span was 3:30.

I'm not saying we're LSU and every game should be an 8-9 PM kick. I understand the weather sucks in the late season so afternoons work much better in October/November (ironically we always play on weekNIGHTS in November). I'm just saying that it'd be nice to have least ONE 6-7 PM start every season. Especially when we're opening the year against the likes of ND or MTSU.

The 2003 team was by FAR the most fun I've had as a BG fan following the football team. Sure a big part of that is that we knocked off Purdue, gave OSU a run for their money, and hosted College GameDay. But an added perk was that we didn't play a home kickoff earlier than 4:00 until the Toledo game which I think was Friday after Thanksgiving. Every home game was an all day long event where we started tailgating early, had time to cook several meals, and enjoy an awesome day at the Doyt. Maybe doing it every single week like that is asking too much, but it's a bit annoying that we can go 4 years without a single Saturday evening game.

As for me: I'd like to see them pick one time and stick with it for all home games, unless ESPN asks for a change.

What time would I pick? I'd kick off at 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. Personal opinion. That leaves more time to get home if you are from out of town. Plus, if you are sitting on the east side, the sun is less likely to be in your eyes than at 6 p.m.

But there is no perfect answer or objective truth about this. There are certainly arguments for 6 p.m.

BG is the only MAC team to play a conference stretch with 4 out of 5 games on the road. Once aboard, Moose needs to tell the conference office to stop f'ing with us.

I can see the merits of picking one time and sticking with it, but I would prefer to do the opposite. There are people who cannot make evening games and get home at a decent hour. There are people who work on Saturdays and cannot make afternoon games, etc. For me, I would actually prefer a schedule where our Saturday games hit a variety of time slots in the hopes that we can please the widest range of fans at least once.

I would also do my best to schedule the start times to avoid going head to head against the OSU games. It's painful to admit, but it's the truth...that does have an effect on our attendance. Similarly, to me, this is the biggest argument against the 6:00 games. Every week there seems to be at least one good quality national matchup of top teams aired on primetime national television. Playing the 6:00 timeslot makes it very difficult for most attendees to see any of that game on television.

Selfishly, I can see the Doyt from my backyard. I would prefer that every game start at 6:00. I always sit on the west side of the stands so I'm never looking into the sun. I have a 5 minute drive without traffic and typically only 20-30 mins with a full game traffic. I understand I'm in the minority, but for me that's my reality.

If I were forced to pick 1 game time that I thought best for as many people as possible it'd be 3:30-5:00. I think that balances the best of all worlds as much as possible. But like I said, I think the best bet, is really to hit various start times as much as possible in the hopes that we can reach as large a number of people as possible. I just really badly miss those Saturday evening games that were so much fun...

Hambb,
You just said it ..... "Selfishly" you want all 6 pm or so games, but there are a "few" of us who travel 2+ hrs just to get to BG.
I'm retired so late nites can be handled to a point, but getting home at 1:30 am if we're lucky ain't a lot of fun.
2:30-3:00 games seem to be almost ideal IMO.

Totally understand Den.

Which is why I said if it were me I'd like to see various start times throughout the season.

The reality is, I guess, we DO see various start times throughout the season. But we waste all of our evening starts for the asinine reality that is weeknight "MACtion". I suspect that until that finally goes away (fingers crossed) we will continue to play mostly afternoon games on Saturdays.
