Freak-
I am READY for baseball to start and have made plans to go to Bradenton for the week baseball is in Florida. Even the alumni and the athletic departments are starting to get serious about it, as they are planning an event in Florida in conjunction with the baseball spring trip. That is a FIRST!!
Could be a very good year for Falcon baseball, if we can overcome the injury bug that has hit us the past couple of years. We were missing our number 1,2 and 4 starters last year for almost the whole second half of the season, and most of them are getting healthy now. Knoblauch should be at close to 100% and the status for Sanholtz and Johnson is still a little up in the air for 2005, following their surgery last year. If one of them is healthy it would be great. Most of our position players return, with only a CF to replace.
I KNEW you would be ready...I am trying to make plans to attend a weekend game here and there. I don't think BG will play at Kent or Akron this year (another reason I want us back in the East! ).
This could be a big year....hopefully everyone is healed and ready to go. We are flying to Tampa for the week of 3/24-4/1. Too bad the Falcons are playing in Bradenton earlier in the month!
Oh well, have a great time and bring home plenty of "W"s!!
GO BASEBALL!!

Yeah, baseball is opening in my neck of the woods, sort of. Well at least in the state of Kentucky, although MapQuest says its about a 5 hr drive to Murray from Lexington. Murray State plays in the Ohio Valley Conference and Kirk Reuter is their famous baseball alum. They won the OVC in 2003 and made the NCAA tourney that year, but then had a down year last season. This opening series for BG, will be Murray's 5th game of the season. I expect a good opener, since Murray has a decent baseball tradition and will have four games under their belts. I hope that I can make this trip, it looks like a gorgeous university.
FYI: Frank Beamer played football at Murray State.
