The first strip of turf is finally down. Progress will really start moving forward now.

Just a matter of visual preference, but I don't care for the alternating 2-tone shades of green. Would have liked a consistent color, but I guess someone figured as long as they were putting down new turf, may as well do something that changes the look. I guess I'll learn to like it if the team plays well on it.

I find the third paragraph from the end somewhat confusing. The one that begins "That would combine . . ."

I like the alternating turf shades. As much as I love the Doyt, it needs all the help it can get to brighten up the place.

LB,
That is confusing...

I believe what is being alluded to here is that the next phase would completely re-envision the West side non bleacher level. It would include a dedicated press level and a dedicated "suite" or "club" level and thereby eliminating the "suites" on the East side. At least that is how I read it....

I like the alternating green turf, like more orange and brown on the field, like that talonSUP is not on the field, only minor gripe is I wish it said BOWLING GREEN in both endzones. Overall it's going to look great.

Did we find out if they are installing grass on that outside area where Falcon Club is?

From the pictures posted this morning by the Athletic Dept., the new turf looks awesome. Can't wait to be able to finally see it in person in about eight weeks.

I had not noticed this before, but the numbering of the yard lines is in our Falcon font. That's a very nice touch.

The orange portion of the new turf really brings out a lovely contrast to the old pink seats they decided to reinstall. I can't wait until they install the new "Browns Stadium" orange seats to replace the old brown seats. That should give us an incredible third tint.

Well done!

Whatever they used to coat those now pink seats with must've been some cheap stuff. The company I work for manufactures coatings and would never weather as quickly as those seats did...they look awful.

They placed the numbers and the hashes on the field but didn't put the arrows by the numbers. Is this something they forgot or will they go back and put them on.

It looks like the arrows are on now.

Hopefully someone will check the paint at midfield and the endzones to make sure it didn't 'melt'. Wouldn't want a repeat of the Hall of fame game.

In a related note, I've heard the turf gets extremely hot in the sun after a couple hours. Might be something to watch for this year.
