ESPN interviewed some coaches on their biggest near miss in recruiting. Dave Clawsons was Bell from when he as at BG. Clawson felt that they were the front runner until MSU had a fight which resulted in Glen Winston being dismissed which led to MSU offering Bell and the rest is history.

But Bell is in big time trouble, and i keep getting emails about him despite trying to delete that site.

If I'm not mistaken, Bell verbally committed to BGSU, then decommitted and committed to MSU about two days later. I think I read that in a story by Ryan Autullo when he was covering the team on Bancroft Street for the Blade a few years back.
