Falcons in the NFL

Post by jpfalcon09 »

With the preseason getting underway in a few days, thought it would be a good time to check in to see how former Falcons were faring in NFL camps.

As of right now, the following players are in camps:

Jude Adjei-Barimah - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Zach Colvin - LA Rams
Chris Jones - Miami Dolphins
Roger Lewis - NY Giants
Kory Lichtensteiger - Washington Redskins
Gabe Martin - Arizona Cardinals

Colvin was recently signed by the Rams and joined the team in camp yesterday, while Lewis is impressing with the Giants, earning first team reps recently.

Hopefully Shaun Suisham can get healthy and get a look at another team.

As far as I know he's been looking into the possibility of coaching. He's currently not signed by anyone in a professional league.

From BucsNation.com and an article titled "Last Nights Losers":
----
CB Vernon Hargreaves

The Bucs’ first-round pick didn’t necessarily lose this game, but he didn’t do much to stand out and mostly played with the second team. That’s a little disappointing for a player who’s supposed to be the team’s starting nickel cornerback, though it’s in part a result of Jude Adjei-Barimah’s strong showing this offseason and in last night’s game. Hargreaves should be fine in the long run and he’s still the favorite to end up the starting slot cornerback, but he may have to split time with Adjei-Barimah a little more than we initially expected.

Certainly bodes well for JA-B.

CB, #14, from Columubus, played with BooBoo Gates, 2013 Champ. Seemed like he was around a long time as he started early in his career and since he went to HS in Columbus was a spokesperson for that game at Crew Stadium.

What happened to Alex Bayer in San Diego?

Just walked across the parking lot at my office and was able to say hello to Jude as he's in town for the Jags/Bucs joint practices.

He said he was doing well and by all the media accounts he seems to be doing very well. Heading back tomorrow with my son to check out the practice and have my son meet him as well!

Just a quick update on Matty J, he's currently the QB coach at Bishop-McDevitt HS where he attended. He's still holding out hope for a NFL gig.

I figured his size would be a detriment to breaking into the NFL, but his game seems perfectly suited to Canada and I have to think he'd excel there if someone gave him a legitimate shot. Figured someone there would snap him up to at least give him a look.
