Sentinel Trib article from Monday...

This what jumped out at me...

“Our quarterback play has been outstanding,” Jinks said. “Both of those guys have played at a really high level. Our slot receivers, Ronnie Moore and Scotty Miller, they’ve shown that they’ve been there before. We really believe offensively that we’ve got the skill set that the only one that can stop us is ourselves. ... The sky is the new limit.”

Dino Babers raved about Knapke all last season. Not many in the media are talking about him, but he may be a dark horse given this offense and the additional experience he has with it.

I think Knapke is going to be good. Got thrown into the fire and did a decent job mostly. Got to sit back and year and learn. I think he is set up to do well.

I'm optimistic, his ceiling this season should be rather high considering he's a RS SR and has had the chance to observe and learn for 3 of the 4 years he's been with the program. I thought he did an amicable job in 2014 given the circumstances. The question will be if there's enough consistency at WR to help propel him to the next level.

He tailed off during his year as a starter at the end of the season...an injury may have complicated things....but, Johnson tailed off at the end of the season last year. Teams figured Dino's offense out as the season went on and that sideline go route was taken away. I honestly don't know if Knapke's issues at the end of 2014 were on him or the coaches
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

No matter what happens, Knapke deserves a ton of credit. In 2014 he was unexpectedly the new starter for a new coaching staff and a new and radically different system. He beat our first big opponent in years and first bowl win in a decade along with a MAC East sweep. Two years later he is being asked to do it again, this time under a man who has never been a college head coach and a QB coach whose previous experience is at the Division III level.

Knapke has been in far more challenging situations than he expected when signing at BG and has shown tremendous leadership. He deserves a ton of credit.

From what I was informed a couple years ago was mid way through the season he took a rib shot and cracked a couple.

Agreed 110%. Kman is ready...this is his yr to roll. BiG strong kid that does whatever is needed. Last yr Dino said the most improved player in summer camp was KMan, as SF mentioned in his post.

I pulling for Knapke big time this year. I find myself badly wanting him to succeed. He's be a model player and has had to wait his turn, again, and he won't have the luxuries around him that Matt Johnson did. I hope we see the Knapke we saw in the first half of the 2014 season for the entire 2016 campaign. And remember, Knapke has done something Matt Johnson failed to do - win a bowl game. Hopefully he can help deliver another one this season.
GO BG!!!
